True Real World Plate Bumper Weights?

1/4" aluminum plate is pretty damn stout , lots of fish boats made of exactly that where I am .

As far as durability in the long run , aluminum doesn't rust .

 

Yeah, alum has decent tensile strength, but for impact resistance, steel is hands down stronger. Even the Relentless website says the alum is "nearly as strong" so steel is the reference. For me, it's not worth it to pay $100 extra for a bumper that just wont take the hits as well, even if it's 50lbs lighter.

As for rust, as long as it's got a good coat of paint, the steel will last just as long as alum I'd think.

So w/o getting into a debate about steel vs. alum, lets keep those weights coming in boys....

What is the stock bumper weight?

 

yeah no way right my arb weighs in at 150# with no hardware or brackets.

 

The plastic bumper cover and aluminum "bumper" underneath is prob 40lbs total

 

is that the same with the chrome bumper like the one on my off road? Would I need to change my stock suspension with an All Pro rear bumper for example? Thanks
