    Hey TruKnight,

Was the center console a simple swap or were there mounting points / wire connection issues?

the silver a/c surround was a direct bolt on without issues. I think if you have a 4x4 switch you'll have to swap that around tho, not sure about the wiring harness for that part.

the only trouble I had was making the wiring adapters for the new a/c controls and stereo :goingcrazy: :smash:, but the physical exterior parts in that picture all just snapped in like a glove and haven't given me any problems since then.

I am still amazed at how great this truck looks with the Gen 2.1 front end and SWB. Such an amazing combo.

What was the deal with the wiring adapters for the new a/c controls / stereo? Not using the same plugs behind the dash?

tanks! :humble:still love it to bits myself.

toyota really missed an opportunity not offering swb after 2011. :smack:

its a long story, ive told it before earlier in the thread but suffice to say it ended with me having to source more parts and learn how to solder wires together... :pccoffee:

if you are doing this yourself make sure whatever stereo and and a/c controls you buy have the wiring harness pigtail still in the back of the unit.

Nice truck. I like how it sits. It looks higher than mine w/ a similar setup.

update: finally have an access cab roof rack! :yay:

went with the rhino rack RS417B vortex, mostly because it had the look I wanted from the oem rack but without the trouble.

ill take some more pics later when I have nice lighting.

now, I had intended for the last few years to mod the oem double cab roof rack, and I had it taped off and ready to cut, but whenever I thought about drilling into my roof and how I was going to waterproof that seal and what kind of long term maintenance that was going to entail if it broke and leaked... well, I just never went any farther with it after that. while it may have been fine, thats just a headache waiting to happen that I dont want to ever deal with, so all racks that required drilling were off the table. (sorry prinsu)

so I started looking around for alternatives, and I looked at a lot of clamp on racks, most were rejected because I didnt like the way they looked or had questionable reviews. I eventually settled on the rhino rack RS417B vortex tho as the best looking one also with the best reviews. im not sure if I will get the wind fairing for it yet or not, seems quiet enough without it, still thinking.

im pleased with the result, but let me know what you think too.

but with that, I think my truck is pretty much complete. every major mod ive wanted to do, ive done. there may be smaller things ill do in the future, but for the most part, nearly 9 years later, its a wrap. :D

bump. nothing to report, just enjoying the ride.

although, a field mouse found its way into my engine air filter and tried to set up shop (ran him over too actually), time to add some more metal grating over that intake now that ive successfully used it to keep em out of my cabin air filter. damb things just wont give up! :smash:

mabye its time I invested in a garage door...

does anyone sell premade kits for this yet? its a good business opportunity for someone(else) !
