    Hey there gang,

I've got a 2007 Tacoma. When shutting off my truck recently, I have noticed that after about 5 minutes it makes a strange farting sound (or for the less crude, a trumpet playing a note that progressively gets higher until it dissipates) for ten seconds or so. Sometimes it does it twice. Doesn't seem like the fuel evap sound since that sounds more like a motor after a few hours, where this sounds more like an air leak immidietly after shutoff.

    Any ideas?

Sound like the Evap to me.
    Mine sounds like a horn.
Done it since I’ve owned it.

Mine just did that the other day. It only seems to happen when I overfill the gas tank (past the first time the pump shuts off) and if I don't drive far enough to burn off the extra.

Edit: mine's only done it twice since I've owned it.

Probably the leak detection pump running which is in the EVAP system. It's probably just starting to show it's age.

Last time I ran over a marching band, mine was making that sound for a solid week. It got more, and more faint, as the week went on, until it eventually stopped.
