Yes. A lot of the installs show drilling those out to fit the larger drain tubes. No thanks.

I just ordered a Solid Fold 2.0 from Tonneaucovers .com, $789.00 shipped. They stated that it was designed for the 2016 Tacoma . I just hope it fits well.
Now I just need a truck to put it on. I should be picking up my Tacoma DCLB this Sat.

What I saw was rubber grommets on the cab side of the bed. It's in all the videos I seen.

Well I wasn't sure if they have it, I am still waiting on mine. But I guess that answers it.

Just reviewed Bakflip installation video says that the hole needs to be opened up with a 7/8ths drill bit, that's not to bad, as the holes were already there and just one of them need to be enlarged.

I know the Solid Fold 2.0 is easy to remove, which is an asset for myself. There's times when i have 4 (2 adult 2 kids) kayaks in the back and I'll need to use the whole bed. I would either need a cover that folds completely to the cab (but then it blocks the back window) or is easily removed.

Which is why the SF2.0 looks like the best option for what I want to use it for.

Anyone know how effective the drain tubes in the front (on the bakflip) would be if you have a lift/level on your truck? I would assume the drain tubes are really designed to work with a truck with the factory rake.

What website is selling the Fold-a-cover G4 elite for the cheapest price? I am looking for comparison to the backflip g2 price (799.88). I do not see it on tonneaucovers.com. Do you not need to drill drain tubes with the G4 elite?

I don't believe you do because it sits on top of the bed rails. So the water doesn't enter the bed area so that it needs a drainage system.

I think you're right. But man, not a straightforward install! Have you looked at the instructions for that one? Certainly not a quick removal, should you need to use your entire bed in the future. http://www.steffensautomotive.com/installguides/3641XX-WEB-G4-Elite.pdf

As an aside, I wonder if rather than drilling out the drain holes, one could just use a barbed fitting, hot glue it into the existing bed drainage holes, then connect up the drain hose? I'm sure the flow rate would be sufficient, no? Plus, the drainage channel and tubing is really a secondary precaution for those really hard rains when water penetrates the top seal.

Yup, that's why after weighing all the options and knowing what I want out of a hard cover the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 is the one for me!

Will do, it's ordered - ETA is a couple weeks out. Things were delayed here in Canada as they only released the 2016s for sale Oct. 16th.

Definitely will post pics and pros/cons once I get it on.

And that is why you can wait for another option. You don't want that piece of shit on your truck and that's up to you. At the moment I want something that is durable, keeps shit secure, and folds at least half the bed. If I have problems with the janky ass latches I'll just rig something that works. My .02
