    I always believed that used vs new, for a lot of people comes down to previous experience. With the exception of the two cars I bought from relatives, I have NEVER had one that didn't cause me problems, including the fully loaded SUV I bought from a reputable dealership (they did make it right). My wife, in the mean time, has NEVER had a used car that caused her problems.

    At the end of the day, vehicles are a bad investment, period. Therefore, it's the intangibles that determine the value for your buck--your satisfaction with the purchase. Some enjoy being able to say, "I saved x amount", some saying, "I built it vs I bought it", and some enjoy jumping into a pretty ride right off the lot. Point is, any time someone is spending $20 000or more on a vehicle, make damn sure you like it. Especially if you're keeping it a long time. There's some good arguements on both sides (minus the douche-y ones), but you're putting down serious coin regardless of what you buy. If you aren't happy with it, regardless of which way you go, then you've wasted your money.
