That was sorta what I was wondering, so it will cover the truck but you want to use it on more important debts. Makes 100% sense and I would do the same thing.S orry if I was poking around too much. :hattip:

I've used most of the extended warranties I've bought, with the new tech on cars shit breaks fast and is expensive to fix. They've all paid for themselves, the trick is to not pay what they propose at first. They have a huge mark up and if you say you'll buy not at that price you can usually take a good chunk off what they ask.

They probably do, but I would rather use this then go thru my insurance , file a claim, and have my rate go up. Just my opinion. It only cost me under $1000 for 5 years for unlimited coverage over 5 years. And I read the fine print and I'm %100 on how it works. Imo I probably didn't need it, but I'm happy with it and I wanted it so I don't feel scammed.

Good for you that you have gotten value from them. However, the odds are tremendously one sided that you will not. If the extended warranty wasn't making tons of money for the insurers and dealerships they wouldn't try so hard to push them on you at closing. I spent like 20 minutes explaining to 3 different people I wasn't purchasing one when I bought my truck last year. If it works for you then great. I was more pointing out that holistically speaking they are a bad investment.

Ya warranties are always in favor of the house. Some people gamble and win (IE, have repairs that cost more than the warranty) but the VAST majority lose out. Even with less reliable auto makers. Plenty of data out there that proves this. But buying a high ticket item has associated insecurity and dealers take advantage of this by selling security.

Some companies require people to purchase vehicles of certain years and mileages in order to be eligible for a car allowance. Meaning once your work vehicle hits the year and mileage limit you have to get a new one. So if you buy a beater you get ZERO per month in a car allowance.

I don't know what the OPs work requirements are for the work vehicle. I was just asking.

That's not coming until the 2022 model. 2021 will be the last year of the current Tundra.
