I can put about .25 cents of gas and the pump clicks off, no positioning of it changes that.
I ve had a Evap code for a while and tried a new gas cap about 5 times. Ive been watching vids on YT to try to figure this out. Before I attempt any diagnostics myself, has anyone had any experience with this? What to check, how to etc
High mileage Tacoma but this problem itself has only been my last few trips to fuel up. Im assuming it cant vent

The gas tank vent on the truck isn't working correctly. Probably clogged up with something.

Easiest way to clear it? Hoping to not have to drop the gas tank but that certainly sounds like I would have to

Valve assembly fuel tank Inlet #77390-35010

Take off the 3 bolts holding the bed on the drivers side, loosen 3 bed bolts on the passenger side. Remove the filler neck and lift the bed high enough to put a 6x6 block between the bed and the frame. You'll have enough room to remove the valve and replace it. This is what I did with mine. Much easier than removing the tank.

Incredible. Is there a way I can be sure that this is the problem before hand?

There's good info in that thread. There is also 3 VSV valves that should be checked before tearing into it. Check your emission sticker under the hood for their location.

Yea, if you "put about .25 cents of gas and the pump clicks off" then you've properly performed your test.

This was me a few months back small leak code it was my check valve on top of gas tank and seal was able to purchase on Amazon OEM. I took off the bolts holding the bed then lifted the bed with a 2x4 a jack replaced my parts an I also replace my filler neck and no more problems can pump gas line it supposed to be.

Had any gas stolen ??While running a Collison shop we had the same problem after someone tried stealing gas .. If you really tried to force gas into the tank it would blow back out the neck. Damn tweaker, wish we could of caught them..

Not that Im aware of, LOL
I did have the gas blow back out several weeks ago, I cant remember if I didnt have the pump gun inserted correctly or wasnt paying attention while pumping. Maybe I tried to pump after it stopped? Im not usually into that habit.
Sometimes theres the release of suction when the gas cap is removed but that has not happened in a while. HMMMM

My poor communication, apologies! I was referring to my own truck. Could be the roll over valve but It could be the other too.

The charcoal canister has likely clogged over time and will need replaced, I have the same issue with my truck but I just fill it up slowly and remember the likely expected number for the pump to click off on as I gauge my fuel economy religiously.

You know, it’s probably that because the truck while I’m driving will buck sometimes I think that means the canister is full. anyone?
