It’s already got the lift and tires. I don’t need to do anything to it

Just go get the red one if the underside is truly rust free. Don't settle for a rusty truck, because you'll risk having to put so much money into frame repairs, that you'd have been ahead (money-wise) going with the cleaner, more expensive rust free truck to begin with.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
When I was looking, first gens with low/ no mileage were mid 30k.

I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Would rather get new parts and a warranty.

    They are insanely expensive.
Thing is, people with shitty condition trucks see the prices and expect a boat load.

It's up to OP and people like him to not be an idiot. But to each their own.

90% there guys. Working on a price for the red one.

I did a FaceTime test drive and spent 45 min on the phone going around the truck. It’s in phenomenal condition.

Honestly surprised it hasn’t sold but he had it listed at $14,995 and we agreed on $13,000 just now

Is the truck in actually worth $15,000… no

but the market for these double cabs with 4wd and locker are becoming collectibles. Especially low miles and good condition…

This one checked all the boxes without paying 20k. Yes it has 215,000 miles but I can imagine I’ll own it for another 6-7 year and drive it may 2000-3000 miles per year

I never imagined a red one in my driveway but I’m open to a red car! Never owned a red vehicle before.

You’re going to spend $13k on a truck to use for 12,000-21,000miles? Are you expecting to have it valued at $13k at the end? If so I would go for it cost of maint. And running it will be minimal, insurance is what is going to cost the most in that time.

I probably have seen the red one driving around San Antonio. I don't understand the red fender flares and bumper. You said it was TRD but I thought only the limited trim had color match parts was it painted.

good point, maybe one of the previous owners had them painted.

I did go ahead and make the purchase today so I am having it flat bed transported here by the end of the week. When it arrives I’ll take plenty of photos and share them on here.

I am super excited to be back in the Toyota Tacoma community. It’s been a long time coming. I cannot believe im the new owner of a radiant red taco… super excited for it to get here

Yeah, I’ll probably end up just taking it to the beach (of course I’ll be washing the frame after every visit) on the weekends with my family and the occasional Toyota group meet up.

There’s a large community of Toyota owners here in Florida. There’s a very well-known group called FCT. “first Coast Toyota.”
