Still have not found a new truck since my gen 2 was totaled. However, I wasn't immediately looking for one with all the nonsense I had going on. Not to mention the market has been all over the place. finally getting things calmed down, and started to look again.

Anyways, I found a decent deal on a 05 access cab. Probably the best swap candidate. So its obviously 2wd, has a 6 speed manual with 3rd blown out. Truck is super clean, seller has a decent price.

When I was looking at buying back my taco (which I should have.. I kick myself all the time for not buying the damn thing back to fix it) I needed a new rearend. I recall that some ford whatever fit, but also the Gen 2 tundra parts I thought were bolt on more or less. Since trying to find a tacoma rear end will be next to impossible for me, or just far too expensive. I can get my hands on tundra parts locally easy.

Can anyone who has done it, or knows a decent amount, give me the tldr of what my options are? I am reading what I can now, it's just a lot of information I'm trying to quickly absorb.

Any help would be super great. Thanks guys!

Oh, forgot that this isn't my normal account. I forget why I can't login to my normal one.

Impossible to tell from this word salad what you are trying to accomplish…can you clarify what you are wanting to do here?

Yeah sorry, I was super lazy it looks like and just rambled. It's moot now though. I just broke my legs, so I'm not going to be walking for a few months let alone swapping transmissions and stuff. Guy also sold the truck. Welp... try again in a few months. This idea is on pause.

Edit: didnt want to add another post and have this go to the top. I found the worlds crappiest cheapest I have ever seen gen 2 tundra. Looks like I may be going to the other side now. Just cannot find a decent taco for a decent price ever. I have looked for over 2 years now.
