Trying to remove alarm system

I’m trying to remove my alarm system it’s aftermarket and I want it out, does anyone know which wires I should unplug?

 

follow the wires off of the relay, they usually lead to the bundle of wires that come off the electrical portion of the ignition switch. In my experience, all the relay does is open or close the circuit for the starter.

 

Is this the relay?

Likely an option you don't have... power windows, locks maybe?

 

I do not have power windows or locks, all manual

 

well i would have looked for the starter wire since all alarms disable the starter. just cut it from the alarm and connect it back together. just removing the alarm won't make it start again.

 

But getting rid of an alarm system that could be old and messing up the regular wiring of the system isn't a terrible idea either- it certainly crosses one thing off the list.. It also adds some variables.. like "did you break anything else in the process"...

 

Without the Electrical Wiring Diagrams your kinda driving with your eyes closed

Do you have any idea of just what alarm brand finding a schematic would make things easier.

 

yeah some alarms are out dated but as a person who used to install alarms, if you cut out an old alarm, the starter will be most likely cut and they installed a relay in between so that the alarm can control when the starter is disabled (armed and unarmed) so look for that then the rest you can cut out. i forget which wire is the starter my alarm has been installed for 20 years now. lol
