    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to scratch an itch, and decided to buy an inexpensive jeep wrangler for the summer (or maybe 2 summers) as a play around town vehicle, then sell back into the world. No offroading, just top and doors off errand running. maybe drive to work when its nice (23 miles each way). I'm not worried about losing value/money on resale, I came into some money recently, and am willing to pay to play a little bit.

Budget is not a huge issue, but for this I'm trying to keep it below 5 digits (which I'm finding in these times is a little tricky). I understand most of the issues with buying used jeeps (rusted frames, bent frames from hard offroading...etc).

I found one that's a 5 hour round trip from me, right near my budget, and would take a little bit logistic solving to get home... but it's a 4 cylinder. It has been modified, looks like it's been lifted with larger tires. I haven't seen it in person yet, but am I running a fool's errand thinking about this? It seems to check all the boxes for what I am looking for, but the 4 cylinder is giving me pause (as well as the distance it is... although inventory for what I'm looking for is basically zero right now). Any thoughts?
