Ok, I hate to ask but since this thread is so long I'd never get through it.....but my vin has the SZ5AN in it but it's a 2016. I wonder if they would still apply this update. I've tried every update but gave up about August 2019 as that was my last update than only helped marginally....I'd like to drive my truck more but really don't like the way it drives in it's current sluggish state.

It sounds like you have 04B04 from TSB-0058-18, TSB-0062-18, etc. As far as I have seen, there is no update beyond that yet. The 2016 / 2017 MTs got 04B14 last year, which is similar to TSB-0092-20. So, I would expect an update at some point. Keep an eye on the NHTSA site.

Ov/vf tune 2.0 . Im sure someone within driving range can flash it for you for a small fee . Why wait for something that may never happen. Im glad I did it on my 2017. No more delayed tip in and gear hunting . I also noticed, engine seems happy cruising at 70-75 mph on the freeway with the best mpg .

I had mine updated yesterday and the fuel pump recall done. Only drove it a short way (home from dealer) but seemed to drive much better now. Still a little early to upshift but that got better and better as I drove it. Think once it relearns how I drive I'll be happy and no longer need to drive around with ETC on all the time.

That's because the truck is re-learning how you drive.

Currently waiting at the dealer, brought in the TSB print out. Tech told the service guy that the update doesn’t show up when plugged in? My truck is a 2018, I told him the vin matches the vins that are effected. He said he’s doing some digging and will let me know? ‍♂️

Doesn’t increase total horsepower but keeps the truck running at higher rpms which is more horsepower & torque.

Those of you who have had it for a bit, what are you seeing with fuel mileage (granted that’s hard to read into now, at least for those of us in the Midwest winter).

I’m debating adding this request to my next service, but honestly don’t have a ton of drivability complaints and wouldn’t want to hurt mileage too bad. I tend to drive pretty slow and not very aggressively, however I wouldn’t be against livening up the taco a bit...

I'm seeing an average of 20 - 21 mpg overall.

If I drive only highway around 65 mph, I'm seeing 24 mpg for the trip.

    If I drive city (stop and go) around 25 - 35 mph, I see about 16 - 18 mpg for a trip.

Keep in mind this is with winter blend fuel and average daily temperatures in the mid 30s. Roads are not flat over here in Maryland, but definitely not mountainous either.

I expect the mileage to increase as the weather warms up.
