From what I understand, T-0034-18-0B04.CUW is the latest. Am I correct?

New guy here. I Just had this TSB done and had the fuel pump done while I was there, took about 2 hours total. I immediately felt a difference in the drivability and really like the improved shift points. Tons of info here so I plan on sticking around!

Got the TSB re-flash applied yesterday while in for a 30K service. No pushback at all from service guys. Wasn’t really sure what to expect, but the change in throttle response seemed very noticeable on the drive home. Probably won’t be good for my gas mileage though. Already kind of have a lead foot, and this may just encourage it.

How long is the “learning period” on the re-flash?

Couple tanks, if they reset the learned values. Resetting them isn't part of the TSB, so they may or may not have.

Just had the TSB done, and it is very noticeable, the shifting is much improved.

At the dealership I explained the issues to the tech, and told him I wanted the flash.

The tech was not aware of the update, but said he would look into it.

Well, he called me back later and said he had applied the update. He even thanked me cuz otherwise he would not have known about it.

Shout out to the Harlingen tech, and to all of u in the TW community for sharing this info.

Hi y'all. Any other long-term reviews of TSB-0092? I am about to go in for my 30K and am inclined to request the flash for my 2019. I have no real complaints about the stock 2019 tune but it makes sense to get the same ECU calibration the 2021s have. My only real concern would be a potential MPG hit due to the more aggressive tip-in and reduced Atkinson mode. Has anyone logged MPGs since getting the tune? Does anyone regret getting it?

    Thanks-

Well, if you consider that this calibration has been out since last April for the 2016 / 2017 MTs . . . I have about 18k on it. On the Stock TSB tune, I had an MPG bump. Tuned, it went down just a bit. With mods, weight, and corrected for tire size, I'm still around 20mpg lifetime.

If you're staying Stock or going Tuned, getting TSB tunes is one of the best things that you can do.

I got the tune last fall (when I started the thread) and have put about 6000 miles on the truck since then. My average tank is still around 20-21 mpg. There is a difference in where the "sweet" spot is for fuel economy once I got the tune. For example, at lower city/town speeds, I found that 35 MPH was the speed where it shifted into a high enough gear to maximize fuel economy. I typically get around 18 mpg through town when I can keep the truck around that speed. On the highways, 45-55 MPH will give me 25-26 MPG, whereas before I could achieve 27-28 at these speeds. However, I don't usually drive these speeds so it didn't matter to me. Between 55-65 MPH, I achieve about 23-24 MPG which didn't change much after the tune (better gear holding on the highway offsets the slight losses that would have occurred otherwise). Anything over 65 MPH, and the mileage goes downhill real quick. Can't really fix that problem since were driving smooth metal bricks down the road.

The ECU Update/Programming provided in TSB-0092 has been the Stock ECU Programming on these trucks since the middle of the 2020 model year production, and continues with the 2021 model year.
These trucks are still rated for the same mileage (window sticker) that they were before this update - no change, they are still rated the same.
Toyota would have to change the window stickers on the new trucks if this new ECU Programming had changed the mileage; and again, no change, they are still rated the same.
    ;)

Thanks for the responses. Third gear is probably the biggest annoyance with my truck. Under light/moderate throttle it shifts into 3rd and then immediately settles to a low rpm (TC lock/Atkinson?) only to pop back out because its lugging. Should not do that. It also cant hold 6th on the gentlest of inclines to save its life. Sounds like I can get similar MPG once I learn the new logic. I am heading in tomorrow with the printed the TSB.

Having the printed copy should help.
If they deny you, you can call Corporate (Toyota 800-331-4331), and complain; and then they will be forced to update your truck for you.

I have about 4300 miles on my 2021 now and average 19.5 combined city/highway (including 2-3 trips/week up & down ~5000ft. elevation for work). I’m on 265/75r16s and no lift. I actually tried the KDMax 6.0 tune for a few days and liked my ‘21s stock tune better. The KDMax tune had more throttle response off the gate... probably great for 33s or bigger, but too much for me (which they now have different throttle tip-ins now to choose from with the KDMax, but I had the regular tip-in). I found it touchy in stop and go traffic for my tastes. I’m sure I could’ve gotten used to that eventually, but I had some stuttering issues with my truck quickly going between 3rd & 4th gears on inclines and also 4th & 5th gears on flat freeway (with the KDMax). Like the truck couldn’t decide which gear it should be in and quickly went back and forth between the gears 3 or 4 times in a few seconds before making up its mind, which was almost the same feeling as an engine miss, but it was the tranny. I also noticed a sort of dead spot in my gas pedal at about 35-60% (especially in 4th gear) with the KDMax, where I could actually rock the pedal back and forth in that range and feel almost no change/response at all. I don’t know if it was just my truck or what, because I know most people seem to really like this tune, so I’m in the minority here. But oh well. The guy I paid to flash me (haha that’s hilarious) was super cool, offered a refund, so it was totally worth a shot. Just didn’t work out. I’m happy again with the stock ‘21 tune. Maybe I’ll try this whole tune thing again someday if I go to 33s.

I had my 2020 Limited done around the first of this year and noticed a great improvement as soon as I drove away as far as staying in the lower gears longer during acceleration.
My average MPG went up by at least 1, I have been getting around 21 average city and highway since and I believe this is because I don't have to floor it all the time now to get it to downshift, it stays in the lower gears better in stop and go driving.
I gave this TSB to a friend at work. He had it done to his 2019 and said it was better. I don't know about his MPG.
