I got it done, but it faded out somehow. Can someone tell me if the dealership can do a courtesy reflash? I went, but all they said was that they could not replicate the issue. They didn’t even test drive it.

You can't reflash TSB tunes. Drive it more, a 1,000mi or so and hope that it properly learns. Or, the next step is a vF Tune.

I had it done at the end of June, but by Mid July it was gone. The only thing I remember doing is helping someone jumpstart a car. After that the power faded.

That is also what I was informed, but it is strange that you can't reflash a tsb considering it is nothing by a file on a computer. Corporate should provide a way to get it removed and reinstalled. By the way, I recently added Premium octane 93 grade, and it is starting to show some signs of life. I will run it a bit more to see what happens. Maybe the t-sb requires higher octane, or the somehow the previous fill was contaminated, but boy am I concerned. I had never heard of a tsb going bad or stop working. I did jump start someone, but I don't know how that could affect a tune. Thanks for the insight.

Have u tried driving with the ect power button turned on? Ive found doing so every so often can help keep things stirred up when its not on.

I have, but I don't find it to be helpful. I have noticed that driving in the sequential shifting mode does help, but the best it has driven was when the t-sb 0092-20 was just installed! The gears and power held up great, and the drive was smooth! Now, it feels like it has DIRTY FUEL INJECTORS. That is best way I can describe it.

It looks like vF will have a way to upgrade and downgrade ECUs soon. Corporate would never want to downgrade anyone.

My bet is on a bad tank or that jump. If it was difficult, it might have reset the DTCs.

I agree. I didn't have a Tacoma before, I had a Tundra. However, this Tacoma is peppier than my Tundra. I don't have the lag people talk about, nor does this vehicle gear hunt in any way, shape, or form. I don't know how to check what TSB I have, but I have no complaints about the truck's transmission whatsoever.

Have you disconnected the battery since the jump / adding 93 octane? The computer should be able to tell the difference for the fuel, but disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer is a decent shot

Just starting out, give me time
Just got a pedal commander from a friend that sold his 12 so he no longer needed it and I got it for free. This just makes that update even better, no lag whatsoever at all anymore, barely touch gas and it's gone like bat out of hell.

Thd 092-20 isnt available for any tacoma older than 2019. I think the previous tsb came out in 2018 and would have 18 on the end of the tsb number instead of 20

Finally had the TSB performed as part of a warranty visit as I hit 36K miles on my 2019 (there was a "foreign object" in my driver seat that kept poking my leg LOL). I only have a few miles on it so far but early returns are good. The strange 3rd gear rev-bog-rev dance seems to be eliminated and the premature lugging shifts into 4th and 5th seem to be addressed too. Glad I finally had it done. Shifting dynamics significantly improved.

I 100% agree. I'm on the fence now re: a tune since the Truck actually drives great after this TSB.

Oh ok thank you. I've got an appointment for tomorrow with the dealer. I mentioned tsb 0077-16 to them so we will see what happens.

i bet the ECU is retarding the timing due to low octane. toyota says 87 or higher but these engines really perform best on 91 or 93. try running 87 for a few thousand miles and keep an eye on ignition timing. now run 91/93 for a couple thousand miles and you will see the advance in timing. the difference is substantial.

I'm curious how many opting for the KDMax tune are coming off TSB-0092 versus earlier ECU codes. I really do not see the need for a tune based on what I have experienced so far, even with a 180 lb shell in the back.
