TSB AAL vs regular AAL

    so, what's different between the two? are the tsb ones stiffer with more lift to overcome the extra string, or are the regular AALs stiffer with more lift to make up for not having the extra leaf the tsb gives you. and what negatives are there if you install a regular AAL on the tsb springs.

    I'm asking this for 2 reasons. first, i saw this lift, and was wondering if i could run it with the tsb springs i have http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/dayaalkit05.jpg
    and second, becasue i'm just curious and have been wondering about it for a while.

    I think the TSB springs and the non-TSB springs have different bends so the centering pin goes in a different spot.

    If you had the TSB done and bought the non-TSB AAL- You either had to cut the AAL or turn it 180* to get it to fit right.

    The TSB spring is NOT an AAL.

    The TSB springs are an entire leaf spring replacement. All the 'leafs' in the TSB have the same ARCH in them which make them engineered & designed to work together as a unit.

    An AAL that you buy aftermarket (for lifting purposes) does not have the same ARCH or spring rate.

    Hmmm...I didn't read it like that as I know Toytec makes a "Pre-TSB" and a "Post-TSB" AAL....

    Jan is right...The TSB itself isn't an AAL and you can create lift with or without it...using an aftermarket AAL.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    AAL's for the TSB leaf pack are a little shorter so they fit inbetween the spring pack clamps.

    sorry, i wasn't clear. i have the tsb done, so i know it's a whole new set of springs. i was reffering mainly to the toytech AALs. they make one for trucks who have had the tsb done, and one for trucks without the new springs.

    i'm wondering, other than the centering hole being different, is one curved more or have a higher spring rate

    thanks chris, i missed that at first. so if for soem reason i used a non tsb AAL on my truck (which has the tsb), i would have to get new clamps, which i'm sure is a pain.
