So I got the rear TSB done today with no hassel from the dealer which I'm happy about. But I have a non TRD and I didn't get new shocks, I think I'm supossed to get them. So I have to go back tomorrow and talk to my orignial service advisor because he was off today and a different guy helped me. It shows in the tsb that the tach gets like 2hrs pay for doing the shocks so they are ripping off Toyota for not doing it. Not to happy I have to go back. Anyways just venting a bit.

Yeah I checked under the truck I got the four leaf pack but not shocks, I made them give me a copy of the TSB that I brought in to me. So I'm gonna talk to the other guy tomorrow. The service advisor today was less than helpful. But thanks. I'm gonna get my shocks tomorrow.

It would help to print out the TSB and bring it in with you. That way you can show them when/if they give you any hassle.

It has been reported by some that the replacement shocks have been the black upgraded Tokicos that come on the '09 and '10 non TRD models. Does your paperwork show a shock change?

Well even if they do give me black ones, they didn't change them because tho ones on the truck are dirty like the rest of the underside.

I always chack my truck after service. I used to work at a dealership in highschool I know how shady some are. I even mark my oil filter to make sure they change it.

I ended up with the Blue and Yellow, but like someone else said I have heard of some members getting some black ones.

Don't feel bad when they did my TSB the replaced my leafs with the exact same inadequate 3 leaf pack. And tried to convince me they were new, which I agreed with they were new but the TSB said I needed a 4 leaf pack. Took them 3 days to agree with me. lol.

Until the engineers come out with a new TSB that says to use the Tokicos I would be telling my dealership to go fly a kite on this and to put in the ones that are listed on the TSB. IMO the Tokicos are crap.

You dont mention your year - This note is in the second red framed box from the bottom on page 3 of the most recent TSB:

"The 2009 - 2010 model year non-TRD Option Package Truck is already equipped with updated shock absorbers and bump stops. Do NOT replace the shock absorbers or bump stops."

Oh sorry I got an 08, so it said I should get shocks, I went down there and my original service advisor wasn't there again. So the guy who wrote the car up talked to me, he was again less than helpfull. What ever I'll call tomorrow and ask. I just wanted to get this done since it was my days off. We'll see what they do about the shocks. They didn't even do an alignment, lazy bastards.

Yeah when I took mine back and had them re-do it the second time with the correct parts I asked if they re-did the alignment. They said yeah it was done. Started driving down the road and the thing was pulling so bad to the right I wanted to go back and punch the service rep in the face. Took it back and had them re-do the alignment. Demand an alignment report when they finish.

I got the black shocks when I done my TSB on my 2010 TRD sport. The black one sucks. I wish I have kept my Stock TRD bilstein, since it only had 10K when I done the TSB...
PS: 8 month later since the TSB done, towing my boat. It feels like it is sagging. Now I have to do something else about it and not sure what...
OOhhh, I did install the 5100 Bilsteins in the front with 1.75" setting. That come out nice, not vibrations or any negatives about that.
    Cheers.
