I called them and expressed my disappointment in the "Professional Certified Techs". I'm not taking it back. I just grabbed a floor jack and some stands and fixed it myself. This is why I learned to work on my own stuff.

f-ups like this are the reason ive been procrasterbating for so long to get the TSB done. im almost certainly going to bypass the whole dealership headache and put on some dakars myself, in the comfort of my own home, done right the first time. just waiting for that money tree i planted to start blooming. any day now...

but in the mean time damn these stock springs suck donkey balls

Not publicly, they have treated me good overall. Don't want to trash them for what one bonehead tech did.

Let's see-Free TSB springs or spend my own hard earned money on a set of springs even though my truck may still be under warranty?

I'll take the free springs please. If your lack of trust runs this deep I would be worried.

Go get the free ones, just check before you leave the dealer. I wish they would just have gave me the springs and let me install them.

it happened to me too! ask them to spray paint the scraped metal to prevent rust from developing. I did not paint mine but I spray 4WD from time to time.

You are correct. The Tacoma comes with a rather soft 3 leaf pack. Owners complaining about bottoming when loaded can get replacement 4 leaf packs installed at no charge.

Icon coil overs up front, Total Chaos UCA, Icon remote reservoir in the back with Deaver 11 pack leafs. Sunroof, Hella 500's behind grill.
That's some serious shit right there.

We just had to put me stock leafs back in so I could get the Deavers worked on. When I was torqueing everything down I noticed I did the same thing (as the bolt was too long), so we went back and corrected it. I can't believe a dealer would leave that shit.

    just a couple comfort items.
You will be way ahead! Plus for the money the Dakars are the best thing going for the back of these trucks, Unless you are serious about going fast in the desert, Then its a whole different ball game! You can run them as is , or pull a leaf or a overload out if you dont need all the capacity. if you need more you can add a leaf , yes OME makes one for that pack and makes it extra heavy duty. Plus in any configuration they flex pretty good. Maybe not as good as a deaver pack but plenty good. I use just about all the travel on a set of 12 short body bilsteins with a Dakar pack with the extra spring installed. It will be worth the wait! Good luck.
