Does anybody know if dealers are still doing the ecu flash or whatever for the constant up and down shifting on 17’s? I’m finally disgusted with it and don’t want to do the ect always on trip.
And what’s the best excuse description to tell the service advisor to get them to do it? I’m tired of getting whiplash everytime I stomp the gas to pick up speed, and trans must shift 200 times driving 12 miles up a slight grade!! And going 25 mph in 4th gear! Hey I’m old but want to drive a normal way, press gas and truck goes, not press gas, fart and wait to pickup speed.
I know I’m asking a lot, but any non-Friday answers will be greatly appreciated.

Pretty much tell them that. They should update you to the latest ECU calibration (04B04 if I am not mistaken). It's not a perfect fix, but definitely an improvement. If you are still not satisfied after the dealer updates it for your, there is the option to get aftermarket tuned. There are several tunes available, ranging in cost, that will give you dramatically better transmission behavior.

The shifting in my 2016 improved quite bit after I did 2 updates. First; I did TBS-0077-16 and then TBS 0062-18

do your self a favor and go to the vft forum and or DM @tonered and see if he can find you someone to do the ECU update and flash .vfc. you will be completely satisfied with both - may cost you a few bucks but worth every penny. JMO.

Thanks for input guys, but here in Hawaii there aren’t any tuners that I’m aware of.
I’ll try the dealer first, thanks
