Hey everyone. Can someone explain to me what this acronym means? From what I gather, it is a service bulletin for recalls on the vehicles. Can someone point me in the right direction on where to check if I need any of the tsb? I tried to search, but searching for tsb results in a bajilion threads.

    Thanks

A TSB is NOT a recall.

A TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) is a list of instructions for Toyota Techs that tell them how to fix/repair various *complaints* on vehicles. Under warrantee, a TSB repair is free. Out of warrantee - you're paying for it like any other service. The dealer is not required to do the repairs - unless you complain enough. :D

A RECALL is a totally different thing. A Recall is a safety issue. If the dealer has a recall on something - there's a flaw that could cause harm and be dangerous to you & other motorists. Dealers will send information about the recall but ultimately - it's your responsibility to get your butt into the dealer to get it fixed. Recalls are generally honored even if you're out of warrantee.

Not all TSB's relate to 'problems' requiring repair.

Some TSB's are simply memos to dealerships on procedures, spec's, etc.

Replace "dealer" with "manufacturer" and this is spot on. It is the responsibility of a manufacturer to notify the owner of a recall. The dealer network will carry out any work to be performed per the manufacturer's recommendations.
