Technically they are right. You basically already fixed the problem with an AAL. Also, they aren't obligated to do it on a truck with modified suspension.

When I had the transmission tsb done I told them that I was having an issue towing my pop up camper. I told them that it sat very low and felt like it was bottoming out when I went over bumps. They told me after I believe they contacted toyota that they would order the parts and fix the problem.

The Dealer was great. I did the TSB because it was bottoming out with weight in the bed. Plus, I tow a MasterCraft.

Without any weight, I gained 2 3/8" with the 4 Leaf TSB

    Here's the Pix:

Before: (Sorry of pic angle it's at 34 5/8")

I called the dealership about the tsb, a couple of days later they called me back and said my springs were in. Didn't put up a fight or question anything.... It goes in monday to get them put on, will post my results. Thanx to everyone, for the posts at this site.... otherwise I never would of known or found out about it.

Well I got my truck back.... talk about night and day difference. I agree with other posts saying it doesnt ride rougher, just the way it supposed to.....It sits up higher which makes it look better and rides better than before. Look forward to towing my camper or boat.... thanx to everyone who posted this info

just checked my vin# to see if I am on the list. apparently not. I just got my 2010 last month. It is access cab 4X4 and only has 3 springs. Shouldn't it be on the list. I am Confused. I just noticed this TSB and don't know If I should worry or not. I use this thing on my ranch all day every day and it is going to be loaded with something a lot of the time.

Complain about the rough ride and hopefully they wont check the vin. If they do, then take it to the next dealer...

I called my dealer this morning and I couldn't get them to agree to replace the 3 springs in my 2010 to the 4 springs without them "taking a look at it" first. I live an hour and a half one way to the dealer so it's a pain in the ass to drive 3 hours for them "to look at it" and then have to come back on another day to have them put it on. I tried to get them to go ahead and order the 4 leaf spring part so that it could be done same day but with no luck. Should I call the Toyota customer service number or should I just continue playing the game with my dealer? It's just a pain in the ass to keep driving my gas and using my time for unnecessary trips. I gave them the TSB number and all.

Ok, so I know PreRunners are included, but do they have to be TRD editions?
I got a 2010 Access Cab, and I'm thinking of getting it done, if I'm eligible.

Access cabs and double cabs are the configurations that are addressed by the TSB not the package names.

call toyota customer service, then you are guaranteed the part. they will set up the appointment for you. i had to go twice to make them do mine.. and my ace in the whole was the ACTUAL TSB BULLETIN that i got off this board in some earlier posts. print it out give it to the guy.. i did, the guy thought i knew someone at toyota.. its amazing what good these forums do!

It really depends on the dealer. A friend of mine got them to do the TSB out of warranty (with no extended warranty).

If the weak springs are a big inconvenience to you, you could buy an aftermarket AAL and install it yourself. It's not too difficult. You can get one for under $100 at Wheelers Offroad or Fat Bobs Garage.

Just returned from picking up my 2010 tacoma. They changed the rear springs tsb and did an allignment. It is 1/2" higher and drives a bit stiffer. I really like the feel it is not soft like before. i will see how it tows my pop up camper soon.

I recently bought a showroom holdover 2009 DC PreRunner Sport and tomorrow I have a meet and greet at the Dealership to show their appreciation and to meet the service department. I am sure I'll get a speal about how they have a excellent department, then I'll just hand the TSB papers over and be like I am sure you can handle this then. We shall see what they do tomorrow. I know I have the transmission issue, but haven't loaded the truck down yet.
