Crom, to finish this spring TSB thing correctly for my truck I ordered the 1" blocks from Wheelers to replace the 1.5". I now have them so would you by any chance know the torque on those rear U bolts?

Hey I've called two dealers in my area and they seem to never hear of the TSB... Hard to believe. I havent called Toyota yet about my alignment specs, they are not in the TSB. I sure want to get this done. Any advise?

The TSB's are like internal corporate memos. They are intended to be a communique between the Toyota Factory and it's dealer network. They are expected to be read by the service techs and to some degree the service advisers. Toyota's hope and expectation is that they streamline solutions for well known procedures or problems.

Because TSBs are proprietary and Toyota owns them it is well within their discretion to keep them private.

One has to seriously appreciate that you can pay to have temporary access to virtually the same technical information as their factory trained technicians. http://techinfo.toyota.com It is fantastic.

I periodically wonder if Toyota cares whether the TSBs are posted in public forums or not. My take is that it may irritate them to some degree, but they tolerate it nonetheless.

Thanks for the info! I've had my TRD 5 weeks now, hauled 4 tires & wheels to a co-worker which was about 200 pounds, and noticed sag in the back. Isn't the spec payload 900 pounds for a DC SB? Hooked up my trailer with two atvs and was about an inch from the bumpstops. Had my trans flashed two weeks after I bought it, now this...

Yesterday I took my truck to a Crowd Toyota on Ontario (CA) and. I just tell them that I am not happy with the way tranmission and I have hard drive when put weight on the truck, and show them 2 TSB Doc. Service guy call manager take a drive with me for three block and come back tell the service guy order the parts and reflash ECM. He didn't even look TSB Doc. or look on the Truck at all. When the part come he will call me. I am sure Toyota dealer know what going on. My truck only 3 month old with 1700 miles.

    Thanks all your guys

They do have one for the 2006 (note that these are not a recall). You have to be less than 36,000 miles to qualify.

Or 3 years whichever comes first. If you are past this point which would be the case since your truck is an '06 then you could plead with the dealer in hopes that it happens but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I had the TSB done on my 09 TRD OR at Koon's Toyota in Annapolis. I took the truck in on a Friday so they could "inspect" it. Work was ok'd, parts were in the following Tuesday. I took the truck back in on a Friday and was told work would be completed by 3 PM, including installing my Billstein 5100's on the front. I go back at 3 and find out the work wasn't even started because the tech had put it on the wrong lift. So then I get a rental truck for the weekend. I go back on Monday evening and the work is complete but the front looks high. I drove it home anyway. Upon inspecting the front, I find out the tech installed the spring seats upside down. I'm going back this Friday so they can correct the spring seats and do another alignment. I'm also going to try and get the transmission TSB done.

I'm posting this request from another section. After looking around the forum, I realized that there is a section just for the leaf spring thingie.
Anyways, for you Phoenix, Az owners, where can I go down there to get my 2010 truck taken care of? I'm about 1 1/2 hrs. away.
    Thanks

How much will the dealer charge to have this done?

Just a slight correction. The rear leaf spring TSB would be covered under your vehicle's 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. So you have three years or 36k miles whichever comes first to get the work done without costing you a penny.

Camelback Toyota approved me for the rear tsb last weekend. They inspected the truck though.Last week I put my quad in the bed and me and a buddy got in the bed and jumped up and down to make sure the bumpstops had evidence on them.

Got mine back today in East Texas. Originally tried Longview which is close to work but they wanted to do an inspection and were not familiar with the TSB. Contacted dealership where purchased. I left it with them for one day and they also furnished a loaner car. Excellent service. Truck was hitting bottom on left side when fairly heavily loaded with four wheeler and camping gear. The ride is fine, truck sits a little higher, and it seems like it will now better handle the hauling jobs for which it was originally purchased. A definite improvement.

One final note. After having the transmission flashed and the leaf spring TSB performed, I now feel my $27,500 dollar truck was worth the price and am now enjoying it very much. An extremely big thank you to this forum for your knowledge and to help get the most from my new Tacoma. Much appreciated.

Any know if the dealer will do the rear TSB if my 2010 had coilovers up front or would that just give them an excuse to turn me down?? Reason I am asking is because I plan to get coilovers and do the TSB for the rear but could get the truck aligned for free with the TSB if they will do it after I have the coilovers. Just curious. If no, I will just have to get the TSB then coilover and another alignment on my dime. Thanks.

If you have any modifications suspension wise, they'll blame that for your problems. Leave it bone stock, get the TSB done, and maybe have them install the coilovers for you and also get a free alignment when they do it. If they don't, then just get the coilovers done AFTER the TSB.
