So I bought a 2006 2.7 Access cab 5 months ago. I have been reading on this site and other different Tacoma sites and have learned a ton, thank you all. I have read all of the TSB's and basically want to get the Rear leaf thing done and my squeaky clutch taken care of.

I have a good dealer locally that has been really cool, the only problem is I am out of warranty by like 8k miles.

Anyone ever get anything done that was just out of warranty? Anyone ever call the corporate office to get it done? If so what was the number?

Just wondering how to go about this whole thing before it goes much longer. Maybe I am just stuck with my 3 leaf and clutch.

Had mine done at 41K miles. 5k over warranty. I had emailed my dealership first! They didn't respond. I then had copied my previous email to Corporate. They provided me with a name of who I should speak to at the dealership. I emailed that person. No response. I then emailed corporate again. They called the dealership. Corporate called me and said this person was expecting a phone call a.s.a.p. I called and scheduled an appt. Dealership said no guarantee! Once inspected by the tech, he reassured me that Toyota could take care of it. A week later after the parts came in, it was done and 41K miles. The truth... something like this doesn't happen overnight. Mention Goodwill and see if they can help. I guess it helps to write first. Anyways, this is how it went down for me. Every scenario is different. Hope it works out.

    Thanks.

Do you think I should call the dealer first, call the 1800 or go the dealer.

I just want to play this thing right. I am building a house and I will be lugging a lot of stuff around and do not want to be bottoming out.

I'd try the dealer first. If that doesn't work, then try the 1-800 number. Did you buy it from a dealer? Maybe your salesman can work something out for you with the repair center.

The updated 05-08 TSB does not specify 4x4 or Prerunner, it states Access Cabs and Double Cabs, the 05-07 said Prerunner and 4x4.

Have you had a problem bottoming out? Not all trucks have this problem. If you are having problems then take it to the dealer loaded to show them the problem, show them the TSB and politely ask for it to be completed, they will have to get authorization since you are out of warranty.
If that doesn't work then contact Toyota Corporate and explain to them your problem (if you have a problem) and see what they say, they do not have to do it just keep that in mind, it's not a recall so they can say no.
If they say no go with AAL.
    Good Luck

Called the 1800 line and they filled out a form and will let my local dealership know of which they have to call me in 3 days time. I am building a house and I do not need my truck bottoming out on me as I have a lot of work ahead of me.

If anyone has the corporate address that would be great as I will probably write as well.

    So what did they cover.

The cost of the springs and installation but not the what?

How many miles did you have when they did this and where are you located?

Was this a dealer decision or was this a 1800 decision?

This was a dealer decision. They covered all of it , but did not install new shocks. I had 62000 miles on truck at the time, I put on about 40 miles a day. Again good luck man.

Any words of advice a I approach the dealer. I am building a house so I will use that card (which is true), and I also go to Baja quite a bit and have been the owner of 4 toyota vehicles.

I want to make sure that I have my stuff together when I get a call from the service manager on friday.

    Thanks,

    Brent

Tomorrow I will find out if my vehicle gets a FULL TSB or a PARTIAL TSB. I have been working on this for a couple of months and think I finally will have some resolution.

I will let everyone know as my vehicle has 48k miles and is an 06.
