Just sitting in the dealer waiting room while the fan noise TSB gets done on my truck. The service writer was ANNOYED that I had a copy of the TSB. He asked me where I got a confidential internal document.

Meanwhile if I want service or parts information, including TSBs or complete service and parts manuals, on my two Hyundais I just go to the Hyundai service web site and log in.

Toyota should take a cue from Hyundai before they get overtaken the way Samsung overtook Sony. My two Toyotas are not more reliable or trouble free than my two Hyundais, as a matter of fact the Taco has noticeably less quality than my Hyundais. We traded in my daughters used Sonata at 120,000 miles with nothing but tires, brakes and oil changes. Get a clue Toyota access to service information is a right if I'm paying you money for a complex machine.

It's not confidential, and if it was meant to be it's too late because it's all over the internet. The service guy is probably getting his panties in a knot because you actually know what's supposed to be done to your truck. Toyota Customer Service actually sent me a copy of the TSB when I had my suspension replaced.

For the greatest impact it's best to wave it under their noise after they deny there is such a TSB! I think the guy was pissed because you were an informed customer.

Well I stand partially corrected. Service manuals, TSB's etc are available to the general public at Toyotas Technical Information Service website. Unfortunately it costs $15 for two days or $400 a year for a basic subscription. Hyundai's is free. So pay $20,000+ for a vehicle and one manufacturer gives you service info for free another charges.
