    Howdy yall.
I bought a 06' Taco back in January and decided just now id start a forum about what kind of mods ive done to it and whats to come.

    About the truck:
    Double cab Super Short Bed
    Leveling kit
    V6
    TRD Off Road
    SR5
Had 86,000 mi when i got it
It was super clean, not a spec of mud in the chassis any where (not the case any more)
interior was also really clean (still the case, some what)
The day i brought him home

    And surfin' Safari Taco!

As far as what i plan on doing to it, nothing extreme. I looked into long travel suspension. That's way to expensive. I havent looked into a lift bc frankly, im satisfied with what it has and what its capable of doing. I looked into a supercharger, thats way to expensive and just generally not worth it to me. I briefly read about a V8 swap. I think i could handle that. I did a subaru engine swap in my baja bug so im pretty familiar with what needs to happen to make it work. But a V8 seems like a lot for that lil truck.
I do want to build some body armor tho. I have a welder, a tube bender and a pretty good engineering mind, so i dont think that will be a problem. However im just kind of saving up some funds and waiting until winter until i start any projects. I work in construction and would prefer to wait until we get rained out of work to spent time working on my truck rather then tear it apart on a friday night after work and rush to get it done by sunday, even tho i could probably drive my baja bug to work.

Heres what ive done to it so far:
Put a sony head unit, amp and sub in it using a Taco Tunes box for the 10" sub. It sounds nice, but the box didnt fit real well. It was pretty tight. I had to use some spacers to put the rear seat back forwards so the sub dosnt hit it when its playing. Im really surprised at how well the stock speakers sounds! Theyre great! I can crank the music hella loud and they dont crap out.
None the less, im an audio-phile and want better sound quality. So im thinking about replacing the stocks with some Alpines and an amp for them. It did just occur to me tho that why not blow out the stock speakers with the Alpine amp first, and then get the Alpine speakers. Yes, perhaps Ill do that.

I built a roof rack for it and utilized the HID lights i had on my baja bug. The bug got a light bar and didnt have room for the HIDs any more. Plus i use them on the truck more. The rack design was my own. Pretty much the same thing i built for my baja bug but a little less tall. I really like the way it came out. Im planning on putting some more light tabs on it so i can have lights pointing off 90*to light up around the truck. Also it needs an expanded metal floor.IMG_1444.jpg

I put a magnaflow 18" muffler on it last weekend. So far i really like it. Its loud enough when im gettin on it but when crusing, even on the freeway, its not that loud. Tho im sure it will get a little louder when the packing burns up inside the muffler.

So, thats all i have done so far.

Just for show, heres my baja bug. Its got a subaru engine, which halls ass! Ive built the entire thing.Baja bug.jpg

Went to bowman lake in Ca this weekend. Hell of a lot of fun. But the road was rock and bumpy as fuck.

Been a long time since I got on here.

Well, the idea of not lifting it and just letting the truck be has failed.

I built a bed rack with lights for it.

Sorry that above pic doesn't show the rack very well. I'm on my cell phone and I'm not use to this site.

I also cut the stock grill for the HIDs that were on the roof rack. They cast such a glare on the windshield that it was easier to see with them off, so I put them up front.

Ohh, I got a girlfriend installed in the front passenger seat too! Best upgrade ever. This particular unit really loves the outdoors, adventure and my truck.

Built a roll cage somewhere in there.
