A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Interesting -- we also have a 15 Outback with "Eyesight" and I have a 17 Tacoma (without TSS). I have driven a Camry with TSS, it performed nicely the short time I had it (a loaner from my dealer). Maybe Tacomas are different than Camrys?
Subaru does their "eyesight " with twin stereo-optic cameras, and Toyota does theirs with the combo of one camera and the radar behind the grill!
And of course you know Toyota OWNS 16-18% of Subaru.

Yeah I understand that, I’ll probably keep my bare bones Tacoma around even if I get something autonomous. Can’t even buy one like it 3 years later. Most people will want it after a while. Insurance will be dirt cheap on fully autonomous cars. Hell a lot of people people won’t even own cars any more because driverless Uber’s etc will be so cheap and efficient.

Just sell the thing if you hate it so much. Nobody likes a whiner and that’s what you are doing.

I agree. I knew all of this before purchasing. Not anyones fault but your own for not knowing this before purchasing. Sell and buy something else if it's that big of a deal to you. You bought a vehicle that will retain its value more than almost anything else on the market.

I actually didn’t know about the ownership! But yea, I trust the Subaru system. The Tacoma system is a little rough around the edges. The adaptive cruise in the Subaru alone is so much better! Very subjective, of course.

If the Event Data Recorder scares you because it records vehicle data only during accident conditions, you are completely oblivious to everything else around you collecting actual personal data on you. This thread is now out of control

    Well said.

This thread has evolved into the most ridiculous read on the forum. Wife passes 18 wheeler, overreacts to braking situation, blames truck, and hubby buys in 100% and goes on anti-tech jihad.

Best he sells the truck and looks for a mid-80's F150 with ZERO tech on it.

Curious if either one of them even wears their seat belts.

Time to lock this one mods and put us all out of our misery.

I am becoming anti tech but I know what I'm getting going in before I jump. If I jump and a bit down the road I feel I'm not happy I then bail out and do it again

I drove from Dallas to Orange Beach, AL this summer with the family. TSS worked flawlessly and made the drive substantially more enjoyable. I wouldn't use it rush hour traffic going to work, but who would use cruise control in that instance? It's a tool. Just like any other, it has its uses.

I have narrowed down the symptom on my truck. My trucks new sensor is not liking brite sunlight. Hope it is a easy fix, back to the dealer for round 2, fingers crossed.

I am following this thread because I have a problem with my truck and would like input from others. Please do not turn this into a shit storm.
