    I unplugged that b.s.

How do I get this error light off?

Remove gauge cover, apply electrical tape. I’d bet money there isn’t a way to get rid of those lights with what Toyota considers to be a critical safety feature non-functional.

Impossible. It keeps blinking on the center screen.

I have read its possible to use techstream to save the last setting of TSS. Every time you start the vehicle it's set to off. I almost always turn that crap off when I get in my truck. But it would be nice to have it saved to off.

As mentioned you have to use techstream to turn off the automatic on for everytime ignition is turned on. So if you disable it the next time you turn engine off and on your setting is saved to the previous setting.

Did you unplug it or turn it off via entune/dash setting. I don’t think you get that if you simply disable the feature instead of completely unplugging it

Go to the dealer and have them change that automatic enable setting and you should be good to go. I haven’t done it yet- waiting on next visit

Deer runs out in front of you.

    18 wheeler is behind you.

    TSS slams on brakes.

There’s really no reason why not.

I’m not sure where you get that idea from. it’s already been done according to the tss recall threads- if your lifted, bigger tires, changed grill. They have been turning it off (which I believe is this very setting) they turn the auto enable off. It’s not a safety issue turning it off- it’s no different than driving a pre 18 taco. According to the documents floating around they been doing this to prevent a lawsuit on modified trucks.

I don't consider TSS to be B.S. I think that it's a valuable safety feature.

I don't like the tss honestly.

We have a road i drive daily, it has a right hand turn with a turn lane in it. If a car is in the turn lane and you are not, tss activates because you are heading straight for the car in the lane.

To avoid this crap i have to slow way down while passing the car in the turn lane.

This system is designed for morons who don't pay attention, leave themselves with no braking room, drive too fast for conditions etc.

For true automotive enthusiasts, like us fellas who row gears, TSS is nothing but a useless nuisance. I guess I fall into that 5-10% of drivers who actually enjoy driving and pay attention doing so.

I sure wouldn't like a computer making up an action on its own when my brain is fully capable!

One dealer said they can't do it.

Another said they'd do it but only for a waiver and $160.

The waiver is so if you are in an accident, you cannot come back and sue Toyota. In addition, it is then documented that if you are in an accident, whoever you hit (or your passengers) cannot come back and sue Toyota because of your choices.
Whoever compared it to the pre 2018 models, there is a huge difference... it was not offered then. It is now and turning TSS off puts the liability square on the guy who makes that poor decision.
To the guy who thinks he is in the 5-10% enthusiast group who does not need it:
Please tell me that you pay attention 100% of the time and are never distracted. I call bullshit on that one.
