I think the going away is more related to on-off cycles than it is to mileage, you drove long distances so it took a lot of miles but not that many cycles probably. And yeah it really doesn't matter how long it takes it should work from the get go...

If the washer doesn't instantly fix it, let me know, I'll send you a FREE garnish and we will have a little bit more data on weather or not it matters where you get your garnish.

just to clarify on my case, I got my TRD Pro grill from madhornets, and I used the garnish that came with it. It is still on my truck and I now have just over 41,000 miles on it.

I bought my grill and garnish through you guys.

    THIS IS NOT A BASH.

I have had a hell of a time getting my light to stay off. I did one washer, two washers, three, four, etc. It always comes back on. Sometimes it's 50 miles, sometimes it is 500 miles. I did a trip to the outer banks, which is approx 1100 miles and the light was off the entire time. Last couple weeks driving around locally I can't go more than 30 miles on the highway without it the light coming on.

I chalked it up to needing to play with it more and the combination of my lift, etc.

    Any help?

Off Topic but does your front camera mount fit all pro grilles?

It actually fits NONE of them, that camera mount is for the TRD off road and sport grilles. I dont currently make one for the pros which is dumb I know, but the pro grill already has a pretty flat spot where you can mount a camera you just need to drill, unless you are trying to install the OEM front camera which I again don't yet have a solution for

Slightly off topic question here. I have PRO the grille on my 21 Sport 4x4 and I installed the garnish with the new grille, of course, and it works fine (I adde 2 washers per the instructions). My question is, does anyone make a Garnish or Garnish sticker that looks more like the grille itself? I mean on the grille the horizontal pieces are black (NOT silver). When I see the front of my truck, it looks good but the garnish is like this un-avoidable silver sticker that stands-out too much. Does anyone make one that's more realistic? Or can I just take the sticker off of the garnish?? Thanks

some people have put some Xpel Stealth wrap over the top of it. it's designed to make whatever color your car already is appear matte, so it knocks some of the shine out of the silver. i've been meaning to order some myself, but i just havent gotten around to it.

Well, I went the Amazon knock off way, so I guess we'll see. If all fails, I'll order another garnish.

Do you sell a TRD Pro grill with Garnish that is plug and play with out issues?

Might be a stupid question but, has anyone, before they removed the sensor from the off road grill, measured the verticle angle(while the grill is still on the truck) that the sensor is mounted in the grill? And when the sensor is remounted in the pro grill, using the washers to acheive the same angle.

There is no angle on the sensor before it is removed. The whole point of "angling" the sensor when you put on a TRD Pro grill, is because the pro grill sensor location is about 6 inches or so BELOW where it is on the OEM truck with an OEM grill that is not a TRD Pro. So it is simply a matter of angling the sensor so that it looks about 6inches higher so replicate where it USED to be before you took it out and installed it on a TRD Pro grill which sits lower. Now, all of this is moot, if you RAISED your truck, because let's say, you install a trd pro grill on a non-trd pro tacoma. That puts the sensor location about 6inches lower. However, if you THEN raise [lift] your truck, well, you just might have then put the sensor BACK in the original height when it was OEM!

I understand exactly what you are saying but...having worked on tracking radar systems for a few yrs,and doing a few radar alignments,I'm thinking the transmitted beam is quite narrow and by angling the TX/RX up we might be missing the intended target. Is the Pro sensor the same as the OR sensor...are the mounting pads on the 2 grills different? I'm not trying to argue here just trying to understand whats going on...lol

It’s trial and error with positioning the angle of the sensor when the TRD Pro (replica) is installed.

Maybe you have a fancy apparatus that can measure both locations?

I’ve yet to install mine but will add the 3/8” washer since the site I bought it from (Empyre) suggests it.

I wonder what the dealer uses for alignment and recalibration?
