I searched the forum and noticed TSS was talked about in 2015. Most members commented that they could not believe someone would spend $3545.00 for Rims/tires, floor mats, polished step tubes, and badging. I am in 100% agree with this thought.
When I began shopping for the model I wanted. I knew I didn’t want 4x4 because would rarely use it. I needed a truck for towing purposes only (Small flats boat 2000 pounds). Tow package was a must. I found the prices outrageous because the dealers here in Louisiana mark up for TSS as well as their own add ons. I am very picky when it comes to Rims. I didn’t like any rims except the one lone ranger TSS that was hidden on the side of the dealership. Price tag 36,000.00. Long story short. I told the salesmen I was not going to pay for the add ons because it was a bunch of BS. I worked two dealerships for three days and below is what I came out with. Please be honest if you think I did ok.

    Tacoma SR5 4x2 Double cab
Entune Audio plus with connected Nav app
    Scout etc.
    V6 Tow package
    Cargo bed light
    Ball mount
    Connectivity kit
    TSS Edition Silver package
17inch tire and Alloy Wheel upgrade
    Polished stainless steel step tubes
    TSS embroider floor mats
    Tss badging
    Dealer add on
    Paint sealant
    Nitrofill
    Wheel locks
    24 month service package
$1000 dollars toward aftermarket tonneau cover of choice.
    Buyers order reads
    Vehicle sales price 32,800.00
    Tire and wheel coverage 595.00
    Theft deterrent 199.00
    Rebate -500.00
trade-in allowance -1500.00 POS 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 205,000 miles
Total subject to sales tax 30800.00
    Sales tax 2764.00
    license-title-fees etc. 461.50
    Non taxable - warranty 1095.00 5yr - 100,000 miles
    Total 24309.98
    Down payment 11,000.00
    Balance due 24904.00
    cash price + tax 35592.00

    1. the warranty for $1100 for 5yrs comes out to 2yrs of warranty for $550 a year. um you could get a Toyota Plat. Ext. Warranty for 8/100 for that price.
    2. sale price of 32.8k should have gotten you :

    7562 - TRD OFF ROAD ACCESS CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO LB - $ 30893 | $ 32950
    7560 - TRD SPORT ACCESS CAB V6 AUTO LB - $ 30893 | $ 32950

even the most expensive 4x2 SR5 is only 28.5k. MSRP !!!

are YOU happy with it is the only question that should matter. I paid 43k out the door for my trddcor 4x4, thats a bit more than others have gotten one, I certainly don't care. Absolutely love my truck, would have paid more to get it so. I ask again are YOU happy?

I paid 36k out the door with a 4X4 DCSB SR5 w/ an extended warranty back in November. I felt like that was high but no dealers were willing to move on prices.

That's the problem I have with Gulf State Toyota. The TSS package is a joke. Charging the much for a wheel and tire package that would easily push the price of the truck past the TRDOR package. I left Gulf States Toyota for my truck and got a DCLB TRDOR with just the towing package for $35,300 + 2355.59 TT&L. Total Price 37655.59.

I think this is one of the situations where you've made the purchase, there's no backing out, so why would you agonize over the price and have a bunch of people beat up on you online. Push it out of your mind and enjoy your truck, the cats out da bag.

    +1.

I kept looking at prices after I bought my truck and was to the point of it is what it is. As long as the OP is happy that's all that counts. He ultimately bought it and that would mean paid what we thought it was worth to him given wiggle room on pricing is limited to none. Be content and enjoy it.

I'm not agonizing did not want 4x4. I wanted these rims and a tonneau and am not a fan of any stock rim or stock tonneau. 32,300.00 after rebate is not a bad price.

Ive been to 4 dealerships and did not see an Sr5 DC 4x2 was for 28,500.00

I do feel like i overpaid for the warranty.

    Thanks for the comments

My experience after three cars since 2010 is that I've always felt like I've left money on the table. The finance guys are good at what they do...and probably why they get the big bucks haha.
