I highly doubt you'll find a dealer to turn it off, think of the liability. It actually works well, and you can turn down the sensitivity of the options in the menu. There will be some who don't even own one that will chime in, and tell you how bad it is- consider your source.
Welcome, and wait until you can post in the classified section, stay classy.

The only thing I don't like about TSS is sometimes it tells me to break when I don't need to... Like nothing even near me. But as for turning it off, I don't know. You can unplug it, but you'll get warnings and dash lights at every startup.

There is a buying and selling forum for that truck cap, but you'll need 50 posts before you can sell. Someone will probably pick it up though.

If you push the traction control button it turns it off, but can't use cruise

I didn't want TSS but it's not too bad.

I was a little bit annoyed when it gave me the false brake alert messages on wide open roads as well. But my truck ended up getting the recall for it and it hasn't gone off as much since.

It does go off when I'm accelerating up to a stopped/slow vehicle, usually when I'm trying to get up to speed to merge into the next lane of traffic going at speed. So can see why it would go off but at the same time am glad that it doesn't actually actively brake since it's something that I'm purposely doing.

You can adjust the sensitivity settings for it and turn it off manually. But it doesn't save it after you turn off the truck. I used to adjust it every time as part of my start up procedure but haven't done it since.

My only issue with turning it off with traction control is that it turns on all these lights on the dashboard.

I'm still not a fan of TSS and in the future I'll still search for vehicles without it. But it's not as bad or gets in the way as much you'd think. And I should add this is the case for the trim level I have. Some other manufacturers have systems where it automatically adjusts your steering and things like that. Not sure if the higher end Tacomas have that.

I had it done, still get them occasionally. Though I am on a non-oem grill so that is probably the issue.

Anyone getting the phantom alerts using an aftermarket/knockoff Pro tss garnish?

Never had an issue using an OEM garnish.

Maybe because they aren't sporting heavy mods and the "Mod Police" here are blocking the people that simply are seeking advice?

I wonder if savvy drivers will be more inclined to pull out in front of TSS equipped vehicles? Thinking, even if the other driver is giving them that "do it" look, that TSS will slow them down.

That would be the opposite of savvy. That would be reckless.

Savvy as in knowing what technology is on the road. I agree that it would be reckless.

Savvy should have been read in a sarcastic voice.
