Tsunami wiring kit tube is ringing

    I had my battery disconnected for about an hour and now the tsunami wiring kit tube thing has this kinda quiet high pitched ringing tone coming from it. It does it even with the keys outa the ignition. Anyone know what that means?

    The tube thing is the capacitor

    I have a tsunami capacitor in my truck and it will ring like that if the volts are too low. You will have to let the capacitor charge up to I think above 9 volts for it to stop ringing

    Have you tried getting your alternator tested or testing it yourself? Or the battery? My friend's mercury marauder has an idle and charging problem because of the under drive pulley system on it

    How would I test it? I've kinda suspected issues with the alternator because doing simple things like rolling windows down with cause my idle to drop

    Can either test it by a volt meter or if you wanted to you could take it out of the truck and bring it to autozone or advance auto parts and have them test it. I'm not exactly sure how to test with the volt meter, but you should be able to find out how relatively easily

    my brother in law just said use a volt meter on the battery and if its below 12v or so its probably bad..I have 4 big HIDs, 2 amps and 2 subs so I may have worn it down

    I think that test is suppose to be used when starting the motor to see about the cranking power under a load. The more stress on the electrical system, the sooner your alternator will start to go and in return will not charge the battery as well as it should
