I should have taken auto shop in high school like I wanted to and I should have went to tech school instead of college.

Thanks. I'm excited about the promotion. I know the raise won't be much, but it's something and it's going to look good on my resume that I was in a leadership position. If I can make it 2 or 3 years with this security company, I can then use my degree to apply for a decent corporate security job and god willing, move to the hill country. I hate the coast lol

 

Not a millennial but feel you on that.
Wife and I both have degrees, work for the state and still can't afford to buy a home for at least another 3-4 years.
Could probably shorten that if I'd quit buying crap.

I never listened to my folks Dad is retired Air Force mom was enlisted to. I went Army have a degree that wasn’t recognized by them for ocs when I applied picked a job that would have 6k figure if I played my cards right.
Turned out ok make nowhere close to that do the same job but much happier than my peers who are Fed employees an fortunate I have a sugar mama RN.

do RN's really make that much money or is your sugar mama from a rich family? I ask because my mom is an RN but works for a school district so they don't pay her much (same as a teacher) and my BiL is going to school to be a nurse. I know the hospitals pay more.

 

No I’m from a humble home upbringing but good at managing an making quick money. Ya dude she’s ballin outta control at Scott an White when she first started there 12 yrs ago was $25 hr an gone up!

Oh no her family has nothing my FIL was a 100% disabled Vet he passed 3 yrs ago. They flea marketed an under the table type side jobs to get by when she was growing up. She paid here way thru school when we were dating she was just graduating college an I was a buck SGT.

 

Damn sounds like she has a great work ethic.

I make $11.50/hr now as an SO and I think I'll be making $12.50 once I finish training to be a dispatcher. But they haven't actually told me the amount yet. I just know that's how much they pay the other sergeants. Although i don't know if I'm going up in rank yet either. Only sergeants and leutenants are dispatchers... I'll be the exception if I don't go up in rank.

 

She does but her sister on the other hand total different story.

Shit that's been my life line for the last year or so lol. Problem is Ilack the experience for the higher paying gigs.
