Ha! Barbecue is like oil; lots of different opinions. I went to Louie Mueller one time, and wasn't impressed. I will say that Cooper's can be off, depending on what you buy. Personally, I've never bought their big pork chop for myself, as I'm not a pork chop guy, and that bastard is pricy! 99% of the time I go there, it's on the scoot, and I'll get a half chicken to eat there, and some brisket/sausage/turkey to bring home for the missus and me to share. They do smoke with a higher heat/faster cook method than most others in the Central Texas area, which my unscientific mind thinks can lead to a bit of inconsistency.

Good, consistent BBQ is hard to find. Lockhart and Elgin has my vote. Meyers in Elgin is my go to, plus it’s 3 miles from the house

I'd go with a bad axle seal. I had one on the 40, and changed it three times before finally saying :censored: and buying a new to me axle housing. I'm not saying you need to do that, keep in mind the 40 is 42 years old. I got sick of ruining new brake shoes.

    When your shoes are shiny:

    upload_2019-5-22_7-17-1.jpg

    It's time for a fix:

All good now, 5 years later.

That it does, I was out for 50 weeks in 2014-15, and older than 45. I wish you the best; the horror stories I could tell you about the pricks I dealt with during that time would curl your hair.

It’s crazy the amount of douchebaggery at those events, why anyone would want to be amongst those people in that environment is beyond me.

True! Many years ago my family had a beach house right on the beach there. Summers became a semi nightmare mostly because the beach was a little narrow there and lots of people just driving up and down the beach since most of Galveston beach areas, namely West Beach, were closed off from driving on them. So people migrated over to Crystal Beach.
Family sold the beach house years ago because of it all.
Use to occasionally go over the Roll Over Pass to surf when conditions were right....area was still a chit hole.
Ike took care of most of it...cleaned it out big time.

These are the people that get trails and public lands closed. Club events are a great way to get out with your friends and have a good time. Large rallies and meets of that nature bring out the show offs that have no respect for anyone or anything. ROT rally and Texas Relays bring the same class of people to Austin.
