Lifetime alignments, they don't have the cognitive ability to get beyond regular maintenance/easy repairs.

It pissed me off when the grease monkey goes to the service writer when I'm 10 feet from him. I know his job better than he does.

A little something every chance we get.
According to the responses when I got "lifted", stock specs would still apply, although it seems I AM STRETCHING their ability to make that work. But they re-did it after, said they could not make one number, but it is straight down the road, no wander.
@MattCowsmasher has been through so many, I can't imagine that store (same one you use?) is so bad for you.
I mean, I know what you get with a chain, but not necessarily any different until you find some place that never has turnover. Every chain mechanic will want to move on and up, nature of the biz!

He doesn't use the same store, although correct me if I'm wrong @MattCowsmasher .

Those guys do simple stuff, barely. I used to work as a service and repair technician the automotive industry. They constantly piss me off with their "quality of work."

Edit: toe and camber specs apply for stock based upon stock suspension travel, things change when travel and methods of pivot in the suspension change.

You should use his! And the lift baffled the guy here who had just done it a month before. And their machine crapped out with printed results, but he let me take pix of the screen, and no one said WHOA when I posted it up. But, I always remember, I am not as radical as you guys.

The best alignment I've had on my lift is the one I did myself a year ago. I don't know the new lazer head alignment racks, but the instructions are also on the screen for each step. I'm starting to think that 90% of the guys doing alignments don't understand the relationship of caster/camber/toe and how it translates to wheel and vehicle movement.

They probably don't. I'm going to beat up the new kid at Toyota next time I go back - I have to check on my old Service Advisor anyway after his Heart Attack! See what he has to say about it. He's an aspiring Taco owner, and loves my truck.

Hopefully, he's doing great. Hate to hear someone suffering from a medical condition. Suspension and tires in respect to suspension and vehicle movement can get complicated for some people, but it's really easy when they think about it.

Here's a "bizarre thought" - my oldest son went to WyoTech, and got a BMW job he soon blew off (don't make me start), but he loved what he did for a while because he loved the car thing. Although we need them like crazy, a lot of young ones are getting into car tech because cheap school, guarantee of work, but not because they care about it. It's a thing, and it's no different than working at McD, except better pay. Do what the book and the boss says, and you are gold.

I was thinking the same Rust-Oleum products as well, especially the self etching primer. That's what I used to paint the chrome bumpers on my tacos.

I was thinking of using the bedliner for just the top "steps" to add grip. I figured doing the entire thing in bedliner would be an extra cost for less slide-ability

Same start for me, hit UTI (Universal Technical Institute), worked in service, maintenance and rea repair, joined the army. I loved my job, loved working on cars and didn't cars what I made. It made me happy to fix cars, the pay was a bonus. Or showed on my paychecks when I was clearing 52k/year at starting pay (when I was 22) because I took everything and learned from everything. I'm just currently rusty.

Definitely spend your time on sanitizing the metal before painting. My best painting came after cleaning and painting with self etching primer

Find those tech grads that love cars.... not cheap I know, but you could start with a specialty, and maybe you get some GI BILL or similar help to start?

It will take me a while, but one of our TTC locals got a tire shaving machine, and sooner or later, was going to open. Maybe you can find him and get CENTEX 4WD Tire and Align service started. I will remember sooner or later....

Well the main reason is due to the cab tabs being flat and the aftermarket cam bolts I had were garbage and wouldn’t shift/rotate after hitting a pot hole.
no I don’t I goto tires2u by natural grocers they do decent work my most recent alignment from 2 weeks ago has been the best and still drives good after this weekend with the new cam bolts/tabs.
