I think you are overstating. Family of three, suitcases, two coolers, and beach stuff. Only the small stuff sits on the back seat.

 

I probably am. I don't like the costs of maintaining a high mileage Prius over anything. Those motors and batteries are expensive, last I checked. I can rebuild an engine or transmission.

OK, I don't know where you get the idea that maintenance is any big issue.
They have a forum too. High mileage like my truck is just as common, and the myth that the big batteries will go before 10 years is just that. Their computers are not much different that any computer you'd find in a modern truck too..
But, I get it. It's a thing. No one here can have a Prius! I have a different hybrid parked next to the truck at the moment, only because the dealer sucked when I closed my last lease. Stopping once a month for gas can be addicting....

Nice. The one I had was a earlier model and if you tried it would bog down. It sensed the different wheel speeds and cut power for traction. It was the only thing that pissed me off about it minus constantly forgetting how to drive it lol

 

If you had a rental, it would have been a "one or two" model, with basic happy commuter options. My last was a "three touring" which meant it had some of the nicer stuff that goes in a "four", without leather and a few top options. So, I had driving mode selection, among other things. That tells the computer you want to do something, and it does it like anything else. Just with 50 mpg, and "safe car" insurance.
I mean, even with the locker and K&N, I doubt my truck would light any tires. I can probably spew gravel!
Really, if you are looking for DD, check out any Prius 2012 or better, "two" or better in trim, and you will be amazed what you get for the money. ALSO, Prius original owners are NOT usually the type to do what we do to our trucks, or what people do to performance cars.

If closing out my Kia Niro Hybrid lease doesn't go well, I will find a used Prius and buy it. Wife loves the Niro though, and Kia has a no nonsense buy clause.
