    I am from Canada originally and we call the November 11th Veterans Day, Remembrance Day (Originally called Armistice Day), to honor the fallen soldiers, which made it even more confusing for me, as Memorial Day is basically similar. November 11th was chosen because it was the date of the WWI Armistice, and it was later expanded to include fallen soldiers from all wars.

    Absolutely not wrong at all Christa. Any day you thank anyone that served or is serving reassures them that you support them for doing that.
    At any given time the order can be given for them to go into harms way and they do that without pause. They do that so that we are free.

    I fly my American flag 24/4 (a light on it at night of course) to show our support and gratuity for anyone that is American, Military, or a First Responder.
    I got a chance to thank a veteran this weekend personally. I do not however, hesitate to do so any day of the year.
