    I've given up on Big Bend for now myself. That place has gotten horribly busy over the last few years. Seems all the back country camping is booked solid month outs no matter what time of year.

    From what I understand there are campsites even when primitive camping. They call them backcountry sites. You can’t just setup anywhere.

    there are no 4WD trails in the Chisos that i am aware of. The available trails are all lowland lookup Black Gap Rd.

    Also, Big Bend NP is for backpackers, Big Bend State Ranch is all about 4WD trails. Been there once last summer. Awesome trails to ride. Almost need 4WD for the entire park.

    This park is almost exclusively 4WD trails but there are designated campsites. There are many sites and the park is not visited much. I think most of the park would be considered backcountry. Some large sites that are setup for equestrian trails riding are scattered throughout the park. I couldn’t imagine someone accessing most of the park in an rv.
