looking for aftermarket versions. Do not want dealer installed tube steps. So many options out there. I know Westin is popular. What do you guys recommend? I would be looking at black not chrome.

I am surprised that you were not flooded with "don't put a bull bar on" posts.
I will give you my .02 about the steps. When I bought my truck used, there were OEM tube steps on it. They were pretty beat up due to corrosion. So I got a different set by a different manufacturer. They didn't last a whole year. Took them off and invested in a set of sliders.
If I could do it differently I would have just gone with the sliders from the moment I got the truck.
If I were you...I would pimp out my new truck to a local fabricator who makes sliders so they can take measurements of the new design, then I may get them discounted or even free.
Best of luck with the mods.

Thanks. I can see the point about the bull bar creating more damage

Tube Steps and Bull Bars are unnecessary. They add weight and resistance. They do nothing productive for your truck

Seems like half of the threads I see you post in, your sole purpose is to be a jerk. Is this intentional or does it just come naturally for you?

I tried but couldn't get in. I have ridiculously short legs, and I have cable.

I guess I need to remove my spare tire too considering it just adds weight to the truck and would never be productive. While I'm at it, I'll go ahead and remove the skids because who needs them anyway?

    No, here is the deal....
I went through a few hundred pages of the Magnetic Gray thread over in the 2nd Gen forum. I liked the look of the black bull bar in the front of that color truck. So, this is purely a cosmetic thing for me. Yes, I can add lights down the road but that is not the primary purpose.

So, the reason why I was asking for feedback on which bull bar and tube steps people prefer is because I know there have been issues with corrosion, etc. Plus I know that some of the steps stick out farther than others.

    Thanks funk
