That looks like a pretty significant front end hit... It bent the bull bar pretty badly.

People seem to think the bullbar creates more damage. But not necessarily..... Without the bull bar, you'd have more extreme damage in ONE location VERSUS the damage being spread out. So...although you had to replace the grill & light.... Without the bull bar? You might be replacing the grill, the lights, and the radiator. Just saying....

Amen.... I had a similar situation on my 96 tacoma with a set of tube steps. Beat the piss out of them for years until finally, one day I got high centered and bent them pretty badly. I can't complain ...it's much better than nothing at all!!

High centering just scraped them up lol, not even a dent, its hitting them on stuff at high speed that caused them to warp lol.

    .

The his wasn't actually that hard. I do understand where your coming from but the other car didn't even have paint chipped off there bumper and no dent lol. Idk it could go either way but I like the look anyway so I'm going to keep it for now

Sometimes you just want to be a bit different regardless of weight, etc. I have the predator steps which works great for the wife and I like them better than the other options. I have a black horse bull bar with it's own skid plate
and the black horse design and name cut out of it. Everyone I know likes it, but more importantly I like it. I also notice people don't seem to park as close to my front end since I put it on. Had to relocate the license plate with a kit to make NJ happy.

Thanks. I looked for a long time until I saw this one. It is actually pretty rigid. I just wanted a little protection in case I bumped into anything.

Well, something has to give in an accident. Better for that to crumble than a bent frame.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but where did you buy that, and did they paint it for you?

ICI makes some nice steps. I've looked at their Magnum steps but I'm not sure if they make them for 3rd Gen yet.

I ordered it from AVID off-road and painted it myself. Got the paint from automotive Touchup. About 5 coats of paint and 5 clear. You can get it with powder coat or bare from Avid.
