When I started looking into this stuff, I figured there were more products like slee that had combo sliders/steps. The rhino ones, to me, just don't look very good. I don't offroad much at all so really all I needed were steps - so that's fine.

I'm horribly busy but will post pics later.

    Thanks Denis-

Install doesn't take too long. I do need to adjust one forward a touch, and tighten some bolts up this morning, but otherwise was a pretty straightforward and easy install. Need any help, pm me.

    A few.
I had the chrome version of those on my Tundra. They were good but the chrome is a cap on the top half and it got some wrinkles in it after about a year.

On the Tacoma it looks like they stick out about the same distance as the factory running boards I have, flush with the front mudflap, but sit a little lower.

Well, the brackets are supposed to have an adjustable height element to them - really though, they sit in one place only. Which is fine - I just need to adjust to that thing being there when I exit the truck.

    Eric,
Did you have to paint the brackets? Mine came in unpainted so I'm painting them black tomorrow and I hope to have them on by Thursday.
    These things are long! 87"

Nah, they look like theyre powdercoated - or shot. The paint has a rough element to it, but it could be the metal underneath. Either way- they're black.

And these things are long. Don't have a lot of clearance on either side, someone her mentioned that the access cab ones look better, I assume due to length. Truck is looking good now though! Got my weathertechs and bedmat in this week too.

Guys can you tell me if these steps are Sturdy? I mean is it OK to stand on them while you are washing the Truck? Trying to reach the top? Does the instructions list a weight limit?
    Thanks

if you do any wheelinging, you'll want sliders as steps do nothing for protection... Trust me, learned the hard way...

sliders are the way to go...

    DSC_0212_cb85f4a2b1a635cec0c69339df0dfe282cfccbe7.jpg

those cost me about the same as the steps but do both, step up (for the other half) and for protection...

The mounting brackets are unpainted galvinized steel and should be primered and painted imo.

The bars for the access cab are supposed to be 80" long.

BK1, What brand of step bars were those ones that you had on before you got the sliders.

The sliders that are on the truck now are a copy of the ones from trail-gear.ca. Had to have some custom made because of the long bed/double cab (mine are 94" overall) and they're welded to plates and bolted to the frame.

The step tubes i had before were the factory Toyota ones - brushed aluminum with black steps.. looked nice but didnt offer any protection. i partially bent the drivers side before that on a snow bank while exiting my driveway during the last winter.

    When they were new

No pic of the actual damage or the snowbank, but living on the side of a mountain with 8-10" of new snow everyday for a week. Ended up with like 5' snowbanks by end of it all

Has anyone every thought about putting some skateboard grip tape on thier sliders to help thier functionality? I had planned on doing this after my lift. As long as slidders work as a somewhat decent side step.

Should be a good thread to post my question.

Looking for 89" black tubes for wheel to wheel on 09 DC Long Bed.
    I know of these options:
    1. n-fabs T0589CC
    2. Toyota OEM (but understand these do not come in black, so paint 'em?)

Does anyone know of more options?
    Thanks for any input!
