Mike, PM sent about when and where to meet up sunday for Gunsite pass pre-run. Expect it to be muddy!!!

 

Ill have my KM2's on and my strap in the truck haha, thats about as prepared as I can be! PM replied

 

You guys better post up some pics of that too!!

Less than a week away ladies!!

 

No worries, I have a tire patch kit, tire pump, yank trap, hi-lift, winch, and plenty of tools. If we need more than that we are seriously fucked!!! LoL

If you have a pistol, bring it we might be able to do a little shooting.

 

I have a pistol and ammo, I have a hi lift, tire patch kit and a random assortment of other weird things and my buddies XJ has a bunch of stuff in it as well.

 

Bring it all as I dont know how muddy and or washed out things are. They mountains down south have been getting pounded with rain!!!

 

Ill second this, alot of the BP trucks here at the station are covered in mud over the passed couple days dont know where they went exactly but be safe out there. I wish I could tag along

We always bring it all regardless. Better safe than Sorry.

 

I will be be bringing these 250 wonderfully hand crafted 150 grain NATO spec .308 rounds to put through my M14. Personally made by my buddy at the ammo shop he runs.





Then on Saturday I am going to hit 3 points Tucson gun club so I can bust out the Chronograph and test out these 3 custom loads my friend has done up for me.

 

Those hand loads look awesome... Can't wait to see how they perform.

Ok, had a blast today with Will, Mike, and mikes friend in the Heep (cant remember his name now). All stand up guys.




Well I couldnt find the turn off in the wash to get up to gunsight pass the normal way due to the washes being completely torn up and the signs all being washed away. There were some trees down and we had to blaze a new trail through initially. Mikes friend suggested we go up the back way through another pass (cant remember the name of that now either) and we made our way up to it. We found a really good washed out section that could have resulted in some body damage if we had slipped down into the washed out. Of course it took a little inter-service shit talking from myself to Mike (who is/was a marine, whatever ) Here are the results from that!!!








From there we kept going to the top, it was very loose, rocky, rutted, and washed out from the rain. Once we got to the top we had some great views. We were not on gunsight pass but the next pass over, the roads connect together before and after the peaks so we went a differant way around.

Once past the peak we ran up to a couple of mines to play around and Mike and his friend could do some climbing around and prospecting. We found some really cool rocks and minerals.





From there we came down the west side and found another area to play in. We passed up a ton of other trails and spots that had areas to play as well as a bunch of good spots to stop and shoot.












All in all a great day and I am looking forward to going with everyone next week. I would have to say that this is NOT pre-runner friendly right now. Very rutted and loose due to the rains, even those of you with a locker I dont think would make it.
