Gorman is about 20 miles north of castaic on the 5.

It'll be fairly 2 wd friendly. Looks like I'm the only 4x4 or now so i'll gear the plan to 2wds.

Stock trucks will no be able to hold the pace, but no worries, we'll stop before any forks in the trail and every once on a while to let you catch up.

Yes you have the same exact truck as me. Me and you would be at the back of the pack. You don't need all terrains, but it is good to have. There was a guy that came with us last time that had the stock street tires and he made it through.

    Okay everyone,

We'll meet at the front (North side) gate at 10:30 AM. I'll be there more around 10:00AM and soon as we're all up we'll roll in. Please make sure you're ready to rock and roll (full tank of gas, water, etc.).

I'll be on CB 21 and my cell is 661-208-0911. I've sent a text message to you all so you all have my number as well.

I'll be leaving the Calabasas area around 8:30 AM if anyone wants to convoy up there.

I pushed a tire off the bead shortly after you left.

We used a small air compressor I hate to reseat the bad (which was amazing that it did it).

I had already broken the lug nuts loose while the truck was on the ground before jacking it up.

I lowered the truck and forgot to re-torque the lug nuts. Since I didn't take the wheel off I guess that's what triggered me forgetting.

We drove out to Carl's Jr. and back and had no problem. Dan and I went out on another trail run after Matt and Dylan left, and that's where I all of a sudden felt a wobble. Dan saw it too.

Pulled over and the wheel was hanging on by a lug nut. We found two on the trail and "borrowed" one from another wheel. One of the wheel studs was sheared off and one was bent.

I put four lug nuts back on and made it to the auto parts store and now home.

I'm about to go out there and put the new wheel studs and lug nuts on.

Basically it was an oversight that could've been very bad, but I was fortunate enough to live and learn. I've changed a tire no less than 10 times out on the trail (between my vehicle and others) in the last year, so I think I became a little complacent.

I just put the new wheel studs in, but the moron at the autoparts store gave me the wrong thread lug nuts... and the wrong size head on the nut too (13/16'' instead of 3/4'' that I asked for).

At least I have the four lug nuts on it now in a triangular pattern. I can get to the auto parts store no problem tomorrow to get the right lug nuts.

I was able to replace the wheel studs without removing the brake, there's one spot in the brake that has enough clearance to remove and insert wheel studs.
