So I went into a local off road shop today just for shits and gigs to see about a price to get my sliders welded on and see what their price was for a pro comp 6 inch lift. The guy told me 3 hrs at $80/hr to put the sliders on and then told me not to go with pro comp because they are trash and to go with tuff country. I havent heard to much about tuff country in the 6 inch lift market, does anyone have any input or is this guy just off his rocker? I thought the price to weld them on was a little high but I dont weld so I dont know. What does everyone think?

I think I've seen a few Tacomas with Tuff Countrys on, couldn't give you any info on them though, I'm sure they are relatively the same...

    uhh...everything? lol
thats pretty damn high on the slider install in my opinion. I would charge you 100 bucks, anymore than that and i would feel like i was sticking it to you. However, i have noticed we are really low compared to other shops so maybe thats average?

As for the pro comp vs tuff country thing, everyone has their own opinion and experiences. I will say this, the NEW procomp stuff (as of like last year and newer) is LIGHT YEARS better than their old stuff. Their old products were trash, but ever since they start doing their own coilover kits (stage II) and trying to compete with fabtech they have been a nice company. Tuff Country has always had quality kits. In my opinion, they are probably equal in quality so i dont know where he would get off saying that its crap.

If you can, try a different shop. My two cents ....
