Im not sure. I just kept cycling and readjusting until I was able to achieve the maximum amount of droop/jounce with my 14" shock (per my setup).

That's what JD says with their kit, but if you did that much, then it should be fine. I don't run straps and Harry had said I shouldn't need to with the leaf packs limiting down travel.

If the leaf pack is the limiting factor for droop make sure it is the limiting factor by an inch or so. Leafs may start separating and what not, but can still flex beyond normal arch under extreme unloading. For my setup i’m limited at 19.5” due to the driveshaft plunge. And I will argue with good evidence that that is the absolute max travel of a 62” leaf setup on a Tacoma without driveshaft modification. I could go almost 21” but would have leaf separation

Are you still on the two piece OEM shaft or a one piece?

Maybe my mind is confabulating that limit strap thing, but I swear I read that. My memory isn't the greatest though. I'm also on the OEM 2 piece driveshaft and I didn't notice any issue at full droop when I went out to KSRocks last.

No issues until you try pulling 19”+ of travel. And that’s with 62” springs. Longer springs you can pull more travel before having binding issues

I'm on the 62 SUA setup as well. the frame is my only bump at the moment. I still haven't gotten my bumps set up.

Yeah that's true at static load (varying shackle lengths and hanger position as well), but you'll have some variation during use. I'd just rather be safe than sorry. Plus, I have the tundra axle which is significantly heavier than the taco 8".

ah yeah, forgot about that. That'd definitely change how far they may flex.

Forgot to post full bump. Tundra axle is close to the bed but should be fine. I had to remove the ABS wiring extension from the top of the axle to clear. I also had to beef up the lower spring retainer plates.

Work started on the inner fenders today; started tearing everything down. No cutting yet but assembled one side. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I haven't seen anyone do this with a manual truck yet so I'll see how everything ends up being situated on the driver side...which I believe the only difference is the clutch slave cylinder reservoir.

Going to be much easier to install in sections. I did the same and assembled a lot of it. Only to tear it all apart.

You'll just have to take my word for it that both sides are complete. Overall, the install wasnt terrible. Obviously the passenger side went smoother with doing the driver side first. Tear down starts tomorrow so I can cut of the factory lower control arm mounts.

Not sure. Wasn't keeping track haha. The weekend I had spent the most of each day working on it. During the week, maybe an hour or so each day after work.

I'll let you know. Im honestly not looking forward to it haha...just the cutting and grinding aspect

Overall, process wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had everything cut off and welded on in about 8 hrs which I think is reasonable. I found a few spots a little tricky to weld with the diff still in but other than that pretty straight forward.
