Side note...I ordered a tundra brake booster and master cylinder to complete the entire 2nd gen tundra brake swap. I'm curious how the booster is going to fit with the JD inner fenders...or maybe no difference at all. I'm not sure how much different they are dimensionally.

I remember someone in the jd thread installing the inner fenders and having to clearance them for the tundra booster.

Coming along nicely dude! If you check in on @Pittsy build thread close to the end he has the inner fenders I believe and upgraded to Tundra MC and brake booster.

I had to cut a small sliver of the jd fenders to get the booster in. If you go through my build thread you’ll see some pics of it there.

Sounds like getting the factory booster out with the jd inner fenders is also going to be an issue

An impulse buy kind of bit me in the butt. Instead of checking, I forgot I had the hydraulic brake booster since it's an off road with VSC. Getting it out won't be very difficult, but now I need to decide if I want to delete ABS to make the tundra mc/booster work. I was curious if there was any difference between the 4runner and Tacoma, but couldn't find anything readily available that was of any value. Only option is buying the assembly and I dont want to do that. Even if there was a difference, I don't believe I would achieve the performance I'm looking for.

He’s physically bypassed. The computer is still plugged in. Using the front left wheel speed sensor as his input for speedometer to the abs module/cluster communication.

Wouldn't that achieve the same solution for @Adventure4x4 ? He just needs it to not mess with anything right? So if it's bypassed, it can't effect the rest of the system.

Agree on ditching the bucket to make a regular shock cap work for the coilover. If you’re looking to run a 10” or 12” it will save a lot of space at the top.

Ditching the long bolt makes a lot of sense with heimed uppers as well. High Desert Motorsports makes something like this for 4th Gen 4Runners. I ended up making my own for my 98.

If you keep the coil bucket you can still get rid of the long bolt.

I'm curious if I would even be able to make use of a 10" coilover without moving the lower shock mount outward. I know I have room in jounce but unsure how much. But I guess it gives me room to work with?

The elimination of the long bolt for the UCA is interesting. Didn't think of doing that.

The ABS is controlled by the unit attached to the hydraulic brake booster assembly so not sure how I could keep it. In order to install the vacuum booster and MC that would all have to be removed

Yeah there’s not a whole lot out there for experience with the off road hydro boost. @Airdog has the vacuum boost. I have never finished trialing my abs/speedometer for my sport, but I was going to attempt feeding the cluster from a transfer case speed sensor. To my knowledge nobody has had it working on a 2012-2015.
