Why is this still going on?

Perhaps we should all keep a watchful eye on our frames...

It will be news if there is actually a frame problem, not just rusty brake lines. Funny how vehicles have been rusting out from all manufacturers, but Toyota gets investigated. Similar to the recent floor mat recall...

from what we've been told at the dealership is....(we've done two taco frames) is the frame coating they originally put on from the factory wasnt complete. it lacked a sealer component. som etrucks got these frames. and the lack of sealent obviously lead to rust. when we do the inspections, we are instructed to look at the whole frame for rust PERFORATION. meaning holes if not very very thin metal still remaining. we also focus on certain sections of the frame. front support for leaf springs and right around the sway bar mount from the inside. if we suspect alot of rust in an area then we continue with the hammer test. just tapping it. if it goes through, then we take pictures and send them to toyota. if not, 99 % of the time.... no frame replacement.
