You could sell that truck on this site in about 5 minutes.

Thank you DrVon and Mossy! Yeah I pretty much decided to just keep it. I've had it since 2004 and have kept the frame free of rust, synthetic oil every 5K, changed the other fluids every 4 years, and recently let the dealer change the timing belt due to age. After I replace the worn out tires and align it, it should feel like new again. Still hanker for a new one every once in a while though.

If you want a gadget fix then you can upgrade your head unit. But truthfully new cars have been in a decline the last decade. New CAFE standards kill drivability. Plus the added complexity. Sometimes I just wish I could get something with modern safety but with a one wire fire 4 pot IP diesel with a 6 speed behind it, roll up windows, AM/FM Aux and that's it.

I had a 2006 Tundra for the past 10 years. 217,000 miles and no problems. Just sold it for a 2017 Tacoma. I don't need a full size truck anymore, sold my four wheelers and snowmobiles, so I don't tow anymore. We also moved south and closer to a city so more city driving and less country driving. I thought the 06 tundra was the perfect size truck for me. Not to big, not to small. Getting used to the new Tacoma but miss the room and comfort of the old Tundra. The new Tacoma is a nice truck, but the ride and seating position is much different. Test drove the new (2017) Tundra is just to big for me, seems like its the size of a superduty Ford. For my taste the 06 Tundra was the perfect size.

I can say that the new ridgeline is very cimportance seats and about the room inside of the first gen tundra. Rides as smooth as can be and really liked everything about it but just the looks and stance. Like to have that room comfort and ride in the toyota tacoma. They also let me take it off road on road I know that 4 wheel a must and it handled great but clearance iso low if u off road seriously. Just don't know but I am going mid sized when I swap out. Looked again at tacoma today and they have the look for sure.

My colorado is nice but the rattles and now driver seat making noise every little movement is starting to just get to me. After 10 months and 26k miles it has more rattles and sqeeks than any toyota I've owned. My 04 lexus gx 470 with 95k miles rattles less. It was quite but guess as usual my same old thing with whatever American brand truck I've owned.

Having experience owning a 2nd gen, 3rd gen and a 12 Tundra CM, as well as driving a number of HiLux's, the HiLux would be a great drivetrain to bring to the US or switch the Tacoma platform to. However, the interior and bed space are very 1st gen like.

Im confused why so many like the 1st gen tundra while its a good truck i dont like them too much maintenance compared to the new stuff, plus the turning radius is ridiculous on it. I've had 2 tundras a 2011 and 2012 one was a 4.6 big mistake what a turd of a motor, then a 5.7 and thats an amazing motor but never used them mostly haul 500 pound toys so it was a waste of a truck. I believe i averaged 11mpg. Now i have a 3rd gen taco so far i like it, power well you cant compare, room same thing. I got a taco for its size as i rarely use the truck portion of it unless im on a dirt bike. But i have a 2nd gen sequoia that the wife drives so if i need to haul something big and when i need room its amazing. If i ever needed a full size truck id go straight to dodge cummins.
