Gen 3 is 4 inches longer than gen2.

11+ year old Tundra is 6'' longer than gen3, 10" longer than gen2.

Any year tundra has more interior room than any Tacoma.

I've owned an 06,15,16 tundra. They were all nice trucks. 07 on just got too big. If I could have found a low mileage 06 4 door tundra I probably wouldn't be on here. They were a great combo of size and power.

I'm crossing my fingers for a 4.7 v8 in a Tacoma at some later point.....

    2025 model maybe? Lol

I love my Tundra! Don't understand why people call it outdated. I wish shifting was like in 16+ Tacoma.

I'm late to this thread but wanted to search before I posted something "new".

I had an 03 Tundra. Great truck! Had it 14 years & 240k+ miles driven.
I bought a '18 Tacoma TRD Sport in September.
Newer Tundras are just way too big for my needs.

Something I first noticed when pulling it into the garage the first time...
"Man, this thing feels as wide as my Tundra was!."

Went online to look at the specs...
    03 Tundra - Overall width 75.2"
    18 Tacoma - Overall width 75.2"

    Wow! Color me surprised.

Now, I went with the 3rd gen Tacoma for legroom.
I'm 6' 4" and need every bit I can get.
I knew the 3rd gen Tacoma has 42.9" front legroom.

I didn't realize that even 2nd gen Tacomas had more legroom that my 03 Tundra.

    03 Tundra - Front Legroom 41.5"
    15 Tacoma - Front Legroom 41.7"
    18 Tacoma - Front Legroom 42.9"

Loving the new Tacoma... Enjoying the info in TW.

The first time I saw third gen Tacomas on the street I thought they were updated Tundras. These third gen Tacomas are really big. But I guess not as big as the GM twins?

I really like first gen Tundras. Even though the overall size of midsized trucks might be the same as them now, I think the rear seat legroom of the Tundras(according to Edmunds is 37.5") which is still bigger than the Tacoma. The years I was looking at(I think 2006), the crew cabs only came with 6.5 foot beds, which I'm not sure if the length and turning radius (according to Edmunds 47 feet) would've caused issues for me. If they offered a short bed double cab, that probably would've been perfect for me.

There was a dealership near me that posted a used first gen Tundra for sale not too long ago but they were also asking for like $15k or something for it. For that price it's not worth it for me.

I parked near a first gen Tundra recently and was kind of surprised at shallow the bed was. The third gen Tacoma has one of the deeper bed heights out of the trucks I was looking at and one of the reasons why I chose it.

I looked at Tundras on and off. I think the 2007 and on design makes it bigger than it has to be.
