Tundra vs "those other" brands

With Ram releasing their RHO, High-Output 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo motor, how are we all feeling about how the Tundra is lining up against the competition? No one is comparing the Tundra to a RHO, Raptor or the ZR2 in the lineup, but on paper the tundra is more than competitive in the 1/2t market.

Whats everyone elses thoughts for a daily driver or 2nd vehicle with some towing capacity?

2024 Tundra TRD P Hybrid: 437hp, 583tq, 11,180 towing capacity

2024 Ram RHO: 540hp, 521tq, 8,380 towing capacity

2024 Raptor (non-R): 450hp, 510tq, 8,200 towing capacity

2024 Duramax ZR2 Silverado: 420hq, 460tq, 8,800 towing capacity

 

A TRX is not a daily driver. It is a hyper bro truck. My mom recently bought one, I have no idea why the hell possessed her to do so.

Hypertrucks make no sense.

Toyota must have somebody in their upper management who also realizes trucks like this make no sense and have no desire to chase that particular segment of the market.

 

The Tundra is old enough that most of the major issues should be worked out by now.
The Ram is too new, but given their history. It's not for me. Electrical issues have plagued them for years. And they can't design a cooling system that does need attention within 60k miles.
The Chevrolet has had transmission issues for years. Good luck getting parts when you need them.
Ford is hit or miss, every year they improve the parts with issues, but "upgrade" the working parts with "problematic" parts. (They just can't leave well enough alone)

Currently, I'd have to choose the Tundra as "the best for longevity"
Followed by a 3/4 ton NA. Most likely a Ford with 6.8 / 7.3. Although there are reports that the 7.3 has lifter failures like the Ram.

If the trend continues. It's going to cost a lot to buy the AND fix them.

 

The current RAM 1500 platform was introduced in 2019. I wouldn't caveat 5 years as "too new"...but that's just me.

 

OP is asking about the the new 3.0 engine.
It's too new for me. It literally just cam out this year.

 

With base MSRP at $96,000, this is just a novelty/collector's item to me and not meant for daily use. In my view, the Tundra is a truck for the Everyman; not so the TRX. I don't even know how Ram can profit off of a truck whose base price is just shy of 100K.
