    Is anyone considering a TUNDRA?
Looked at a 1794 edition at a local festival. Asking 48g's.

We own a 1794 and 3rd gen. Bought them on the same day. Wife drives the 1794 and I have the 3rd gen. They are way two different vehicles and I enjoy driving both. Sticker on ours was 53K and we were out the door at 47k.

I had a 200 series LC prior to the new truck purchases and the wife had just totaled her other car from someone running a red light. The 1794 was close enough to the LC200 in amenities that we had the idea of "upgrading" to the 1794 and have a lot less expensive overland build in a 3rd gen OR.

That's a great deal! This 1794 is at a local dealer in Sunnyvale, CA.

I think my next truck is going to be a mag gray, graphite leather, TRD Off Road Limited Double Cab Tundra.

They don't make a double cab in anything higher than a limited, and I don't need the enormous cab of the crewmax (plus would rather have the larger bed).

In the Bay Area it's 1.9 for 60.
    How is the ride comparison?

I love that 5.7L V8 for towing and acceleration. It's got power for days. Engine pull feels the same from the LC200 to the Tundra, however the Tundra rides like a truck. I would even say my 17 TRDOR Taco rides smoother. If the Tundra was a little smaller, not even talking the size of the Tacoma, it would be perfect. Try going somewhere with tight or limited parking. We are taking the Tacoma.

Gas mileage on the any of the 5.7L V8 models is crappy too. Seeing 13 in the Tundra right now and had routinely 9 while towing and 12 combined city/hwy in my LC200.

Wouldn't buy one, very reliable truck but the competition beats it (not saying the tundra is a pile)

Tundra needs some overhaul as others have said. It wouldn't be my choice in the full size truck world.

Mainly in drivetrain because terrible mpg and interior is dated and lacks the aesthetics that I want to look at daily.

maybe a diesel. I can see a updated V8 with the dual fuel injection. A transmission with more gears. And a Twin Turbo V6. The new Lexus LS is getting a Twin Turbo V6, it should be easy to put that into a Tundra. I don't see them putting that engine into a Tacoma though.

I love how everyone of the big three are doing their own thing. Chevy with cylinder cut off, ram has diesel, and Ford is going lightweight and turbo.

Nissan tried going diesel but only got 20mpg so not worth it, toyota now need to decide what route to take the tundra

as long as this Tacoma holds it's own during ownership, I will be considering a Tundra when it comes time to go full size. I'm more partial to Chevy and GMC full size though:crapstorm:

Absolutely. This Tacoma, ideally, has about 8 more years of service with me as the owner (plan on keeping it ~10 years total). By then, it'll be the next generation for sure, by pretty much every manufacturer.

If you wait 8 years. You will see one generation of Tundra and 2 generations of Ford, GM and Ram Trucks.
