Yeah, sounds about as exciting as the supercar tours.

Oh so you mean i can spend a few hundred dollars to rent this car that can break the speed of sound...and i get to follow you through residential side streets for 30 minutes! o_O

They probably want the same price as the tundy and bug, those things are stupid expensive and rare.

So I finally got around to putting latches on the RTT

The one strap doesnt bother me too much, but the second one is annoying as hell when its cold out. In the end, I'd like to only use the latches, but just want to test them out for a while before I completely depend on them.

I purchased two sets of these
    https://amzn.to/2Cj1COp

I had to shorten the throw as much as possible and cut off half of the threads that were hanging out the bottom of the arm so it wouldnt fit. Ideally, a set that had an inch less throw would be ideal but then again, with the overhang of the top of the shell vs the bottom, you might not have enough angle to clear that. Of course, with that angle, the latches dont want to naturally stay closed, but that was one reason I made sure the ones I purchased had the spot for a safety pin. There was a carabiner on there temporarily but I bought lynch pins that I can put through there and the ring will wrap around the handle at the same time so it doesn't move.

Cut the backer plates out of aluminum to spread out the load a little more.

    0111192206.jpg 0111192132.jpg 0111191716.jpg

I tried these first, but the ones Amazon sent me were the correct model number but they didn't have that safety hole for a pin or lock even though the picture shows one.

IMO.. Hard shell or nothing. I haven't owned a soft shell, but have been camping with plenty of people who do. I'd rather ground or hammock tent before dealing with a soft shell. And hard shells are coming down in price.

But my main things i look for are speed of deploying and putting away, lightweight and doesn't kill mpg. I know some people need more space and only large soft shells are big enough.

Yeah, got the permit right after the temps dropped and ground froze.

Didn't finish paying for them since i couldn't do any work. And at this point I need to see if they can be transferred to a new owner. :burp:

Well... Long story short, likely if possible. Mainly because I have the septic and power. If it was just property, I'd probably keep it.

It's a little bit of everything, first Park County being horrible to deal with and taking every ounce of fun out of the project. Couple that with Fairplay itself being a shithole and it being so far to drive to anywhere to interact with normal people. It's just not an ideal place for a single guy...

And working with family, etc... I'm just not happy here, and if you know me...I don't want to be tied down somewhere I'm not happy. It's been a while coming.

Add on top the fact that I don't trust the economy and housing market. The LAST thing I want to do is dump all my cash into the property and have a half built house with little money left and work to slow...and be stuck.

Unfortunately the stuff I've accumulated is not ideal for that... And what has held me here for longer than I've wanted.

"Improvements" to the property, and camper I'll likely not break even if i had to get rid of them.

Tundra I'm close to break even if i needed.

Where's next... Not sure. What's next, also not sure. Trying to throw ideas out there and working with a few friends to think up something I'd really like to do.

    The sky is the limit!

Yeah.. Way too much crazy shit going on right now too feel safe.

The last 14ish months of being here has already cost way too much money... Don't need it to be a larger number.
